We urgently need to strengthen the forwards before thinking about a half that has shown he is worse than Norman. Really think BA has got Paulo so according to him forwards are now right, lets look at the halves. I reckon Norman would go much better with decent forwards and a new coach.

You still think forwards are the reason we're struggling. Our kicking game has been atrocious since our first 2 wins. Thursday our forwards were good, like they have been in recent weeks. The problem was even when given a good platform off the back of a Brown 10m+ run with a quick play the ball, Norman still was kicking down Johnston's throat. The best forwards in the game aren't going to do shit if the opposition fullback is fielding kicks uncontested on their 20m line.

Gower, Peni, t-rex, Marata are all off contract but all have been playing NRL regularly, then add Vave and Matagi along with Edwards and that is 7 f**ken forwards that may not be here next.

Come on, you can’t be that f**ken stupid to think BA isn’t look at signing some forwards when have 7 forwards that aren’t signed up for next year!!

What you think BA is going to have a 20 men squad in 2019 with only 5 forwards!!FFS!!

Maybe we’re not allowing BA to sign anyone as he won’t be here in 19

With Paulo we have good balance. You actually can have too many fat forwards and Paulo is enough. Surround him with workers and you have a competitive pack.

I can't believe you still think our forwards are the problem. Playmakers and wing have been our biggest weakness all year.

I'd say the top 17 forwards are pretty much settled. These merkins are contracted for 2019:

8. Alvaro
9.
10. Paulo
11. Ma'u
12. Moeroa
13. Brown
14.
15. Takairangi
16. Evans
17. Mannah

And the only hookers contracted for next year are Mahoney and Smith (and Schneider who has never even played Flegg), so we might be looking for another hooker, or trying to re-sign one of King/Pritchard at the right price.

The only genuine wingers in the squad are Gennings and Leleisuao. We have been sticking fullbacks and a centre (Auva'a) opposite Radradra for a couple of years now. Wing is a very important position these days. At least as important as centre.

I guess he's at about the same level as a few of the guys already contracted for next year. He's a good defender, and very quick. He might just be surplus at the price he would want. Ray Stone will probably be top 30 next year as well. Maybe one or two of the Flegg boys.

He wasn't on Thursday. But I think that's a larger team issue. We've reverted back to looking like we met for the first time in the tunnel before kick-off. Especially in defence

I reckon there is room for a quality top 17 edge forward and a fringe prop (along with keeping t-rex / peni and Marata and stone/Kaufusi moving into the top 30).

I will guess Pritchard will stay and King won’t.

Did he? I suspect BA is very specific with who he signs and won’t just sign anyone for the sake of it.

BA last year made an offer to Feldt and was also looking at Nofoaluma (there was also rumours of an offer to Tupou), but it didn’t come off. So he was clearly not overlooking the wing position.

I have backed him for a while. I like his 32 tackle breaks in 12 games. Averaging over 100mtrs a game and 93% tackle effiecency.

Terepo problem is he hasnt had 2 full seasons without being injured. In 2016 him and Wicks carried our pack. 2017 I felt he would break out but was injured. Now he is starting to get some consistancy. At 26yld he is just about to reach his peak.

2015 and 2017 he only played half the season. If he finished this year strongly I reckon he will hit the road running next season and be one of our best props.
I feel like to many on here don't realise how much injuries stall someones career when young and on way up.
In 2015 he was 23...In 2016 at 24 he looked great and at 25 last season he was disrupted.

Goal kicking wasn’t really a problem last, Moses / gutho did ok.

Additionally who wouId you have signed to address goal kicking for this year? It’s not a easy skill to recruit for!!
