I'd love him to be the 3rd choice half. As long as the #2 half isn't Gutherson.
Yeh that is the danger.

He is trying to give a logical explanation. I think he is right in most ways as well.
It isn't always as simple as it seems.
Untill we have a good steady flow of juniors we wont have constant success.
Not only that, but with two expensive halves it is difficult to get them both enough ball to provide value. It could be a case of swapping Norman for a lesser player but then getting more value out of Moses. There might be no net loss of value, but we would save cap space for use elsewhere in the roster.Disagree. With a player like Norman, you release him when you get the opportunity - and replace him with someone of equal quality as soon as that opportunity arises. Rarely would those two opportunities arrive at exactly the same time.
The majority of coaches don't get another opportunity if they're sacked. It shows coaching 'experience' is overrated.I’ve never said BA is a low quality coach. I have said he’s made some very very questionable signings. What I’ve also said is all coaches do have expiry dates, maybe BA has outlasted his. As for low quality coaches, who would honestly give RS a start tomorrow if he’s terminated?
Why? What coach has ever performed without quality support? And would like to see how SK would go without BS.
I am very critical of the club, just not the poor bastards who have to work there. I couldn't do a better job and neither could most other people considering how 'successful' we are despite constant management and coaching changes.Have you ever seen him critical of the club? It’s like the club can do no wrong.

He's lacked support every year bar this year. And if he was dumb as dogshit he would never have gotten a job in coaching in the first place. Even assistant coaching jobs are like gold. Every merkin who retires wants one, and there are only so many to go around.Because he comes across as dumb as dog shit. He’s failed every year bar this year.

But didnt he sh*t in his own nest at the back end of that season yet we still threw the big bucks at him?Worse part with Norman was his good year was end of contract year and fleeced us. Backed it up with bog.
If he hadn't shit in his own nest other clubs would have been interested and he would've cost us even more to keep. But didnt he sh*t in his own nest at the back end of that season yet we still threw the big bucks at him?

Are we really that 'unsuccessful'?
Yes, I know we haven't won a grand final since forever and we are currently heading for our 3rd spoon in 7 years, but if you look at a bigger sample size, say 40 years - only 4 teams have a greater percentage of grand final appearances as us and only 2 have lost to cheating f**kers!!
Melbourne 40% (since they joined)
Canterbury 28%
Manly 28%
Brisbane 23% (since they joined)
Parramatta 18%
St Grge/Illawa. 18% (incl. St George only from before the merger)
Even the most 'successful' club in Sydney (Roosters) has only made the grand final 6 times in 40 seasons (15%).
Glue factory Eels.I bleed blue and gold, and I’m just as passionate as any other eels supporter. But if I’m being honest here, then I’d say we’ve been a masssive failure as a first grade team. I can’t hang onto yesteryear and keep reminiscing of the glory days of the 80’s. We currently have the longest drought amongst the nrl (excluding teams that haven’t won the premiership) We’ve won the most amount of spoons and we are just shy of being a disgrace. Both on and off the field.
if we were an old race horse, we would’ve been put to rest years ago.
I'm only looking at the last ten years really, twenty years max. A lot has changed in that time. Twenty years ago there were very few truly professional clubs, so someone like Brian Smith could come in and gain a huge advantage just by doing stuff most other clubs weren't doing. These days every club is doing that stuff (e.g. junior recruitment from the country, interstate or even NZ), but some have more to spend on it than others. That's why the NRL is trying to implement a cap on football department spending. Because all clubs know that's where the competitive advantage lies (other than 'legal' TPAs) given the levelling nature of the salary cap.Are we really that 'unsuccessful'?

f**k you merkin!Ive been ready all of your opinions without posting for a long time, if none of you think that the reason Norman is being shopped is for lack of ability v club changing cultural issues then open your f...ing eyes.
The management headed by Bernie are capable of big things and with a talented player like Moses and some good signings next year, BA’s ability will be measured after this and I’m happy to give him that opportunity.
Fergo and Jnr are good signings and any whinger who argues otherwise is a pessimistic parra supporter lol ( we can’t help it I know!)
Anyway that’s my first 2c worth
