Nathan Brown (the Newcastle one) said that if you want a dumb footy team then get a dumb 9, because that's where it all starts.
He sums up our team pretty well.

Plus a dumb 7 and a dumb 6 etc etc.He sums up our team pretty well.
True, but it is still just our opinion or interpretation of what was observed. Being right or wrong on that is no different to correctly predicting something, as those predictions are based on interpretations and opinions of past observations.Talking about what we have observed isn't a guess or a prediction. Talking about what will happen in the future is.
I reckon Gower is a smart footballer. He runs at spaces, not faces and seems to come up with the right play more often than not.Plus a dumb 7 and a dumb 6 etc etc.
Honestly who has footy smarts in our whole team??? I’d argue behind Hayne the cupboard is pretty bare. And then there is the coach.........
He’s been one of our best this year, shame he’s nearly 40. But there is not much wrong with the roster lol.I reckon Gower is a smart footballer. He runs at spaces, not faces and seems to come up with the right play more often than not.
I think your view is that our need is greatest in the forwards, am I right?
So far we have signed Paulo and Lane, with strong rumours we have signed Musgrove from Souths - that's 3. Big chance we re-sign Williams and Niukore who are off-contract - that's 5. Slight rumour we are close to agreeing terms with Hipgrove from the Titans - call it 6.
So looks like 6 coming in (4 new).
Vave, Matagi, Gower and Terepo out - that's 4.
Add the forwards already under contract for 2019 and that gives us 14 with one spot available, if we want 15 again. So still some room to add Marty Taupau.
We could end up with a forward squad consisting of:
Paulo, Mannah, Alvaro, Musgrove, Evans, Taupau, Brown (Middle)
Lane, Williams, Hipgrave, Niukore, Ma'u, Moeroa, Stone, Takairangi (Edge)
Will that do you FFS?
you are the office chickAnd you've got no idea. You're like the office chick who wins the tipping comp based on which mascot could eat the other each game.
Our biggest need is a 9. If Norman leaves then 6 becomes a huge need too.
It’s not a matter of affordability, it’s more a case of availability.with the money he is reportedly on, we should have no issues with being able to afford a quality replacement

Personally, I think this is great news.
I think Norman is a great player.
I don’t think we have time on our side at all. We have 3 1/2 months before preseason starts and in that time we will have had to negotiate a release for Norman, target possible options, approach their management to gauge interest and then try to negotiate a release from their current contract, which will be difficult as rosters are pretty much sorted for next year. That all takes time.I think its a matter of both and we have time on our side before we can pass judgement on something that hasn't happened yet

HE almost had his contract torn up, but now Peni Terepo is ready to rip in with a new deal.
Terepo was on the cusp of ending up on the NRL scrapheap last year after failing to inform Parramatta about a careless driving conviction in New Zealand in early 2017.
He pleaded guilty to careless driving and refusing a blood-alcohol test, which resulted in him getting fined $15,000 and suspended for three games by the club.
But the Tonga international has since found his way back into coach Brad Arthur’s good books, revealing he had signed a two-year extension with the club earlier this season.
“I re-signed with the club at the start of the year and am really happy to stay,” Terepo said.
“I came over when I was 16 turning 17, played SG Ball here, and I hope to remain a one-club player. Coming over here was hard, to start a new life away from home.
“But now that Parramatta’s home to me, it’d be hard if I was to move on.”
The 26-year-old leads all Eels forwards in tackle-busts (31) to emerge as one of Arthur’s most devastating big men in an otherwise disappointing campaign. He paid credit to Arthur for giving him a chance following last year’s incident.
“He’s always been loyal to me, stuck by my side, fought for me and he’s helped me in that part of my life, from my troubles,” Terepo said.
“He’s been an awesome coach to me as well and helped me be a better player and person.
“He had his time to spray me and then after that he was all for helping me. He really wanted me to stay at the club. His loyalty and faith in me really opened my eyes.
“That motivated me to repay him in the way I’ve played and trained this year.”
Of course it's different. When predicting the future the presence of uncertainty is a given. Nobody putting money on a footy team thinks there is no chance they could lose their bet. Except for loser baby.True, but it is still just our opinion or interpretation of what was observed.
