Multiple times BA had Bevan marked as long term fullback. I dont think he was given enough time there personaly .

I don't necessarily like all the changes in our backline. But French has had plenty of opportunities to show why he deserved to be fullback. You can even do that from the wing. He didn't though. You've seen the stats yourself. You can't demand any position if you're only running for 55m a game. Especially when your defence is atrocious. And I only remember BA saying he's our fullback a couple of times.

We lost all 3 games in which NO ONE in our team performed.

Fullback is an important position and he wasn’t offering anything. He had his chance. Same as last year Do you think BA made the wrong call moving him from fullback?

Agreed, while he is still quick he just seems to be missing something.


I also think he has had plenty of chances to nail down that fullback spot and hasn’t been able to do it. Even with Guth coming back from his knee reco.

Agree and also teams have worked him out. He is still a danger on the wing and has an impressive strike rate in a team that struggled at times to score points. He has to find a wsy to make himself indispensable and squeeze himself back into the backline.

Interestingly French is only a few days older then Duffy, similar style players. Duffy has 16 tries in 31 games

I think we can all agree that French is better than the fresh prince.
Just wrong time for us and French I feel. If we were a better team then he’d definitely have a spot and probably maintain a ridiculous strike rate

In hindsight it would be easy to say he did, and i know BA needed to fit Gutho back in, but if as reported French was given the FB spot to lose, I don't think he did bad enough in Rnds 1-3 to lose it when he returned from injury.

French is playing reserve grade on his own doing. Some of his stats in the last 6 weeks were atrocious.

I would love French as our FB next year, but no more free rides.

How was he given 8 rounds?
He was injured in Round 3 and came back in Round 6 to the wing, while Gutho came back in Round 6 to Fullback.

EDIT: IMO, Kirisome should not have held his spot in the centres for round 6 - that should have gone to Gutho with Kirisome moving to the wing and French to FB.
