I think bevo still has a chance to be something .... maybe a change of team will do him well ..... seems the smaller fullbacks are quite popular with coaches ... if he can become a bit more powerful he would go well

I think he is a victim of injuries .... he had the chance to show his stuff as fullback behind a team going well when gutho got injured last year but then got injured himself .... then got first crack this year but injured again

That's the issue I have - I don't want him to do well at another club with a change of club. If he is going to do well, it should be with us, the club that brought him down from the bush as a junior, the club that brought him through our junior ranks, and the club that debuted him in first grade. Oh and the club that decided to toss him out because he didn't match the feats he achieved in a year we ran 4th the following year when we were 2 from 13.

Is it all the clubs doing???

You have to admit some of his efforts from the wing haven’t really helped his cause, and I’m not just talking about rucking it out from our own end which is a weakness of his. Giving up on chases and not getting involved and following the ball as well.

He gave up on one chase lol .... now he's a serial giveruperer .... our captain and everyones favourite gutho also gave up on that chase .... only merkin who didnt was Tep

Gutho had as bought as much chance of catching him as you or me, French is supposed to be one of the quickest in the comp. and let’s face it’s not like he stopped from being tired.

This is all true MJC, and I would be sad to see him go. But what do you make of the apparent lack of effort some weeks and the associated comments about wanting to play fullback, being disappointing if his career was always on the wing etc. It seems as though his head has not been switched on properly this year, like he had already tuned out of the club. Is this a coach/ people management thing?? Have we done our best to nurture a young player who was always going to have his ups and downs? Or has Bevan resisted this?

Immaturity of a 21 or 22 year old.
Just like my nieces, nephews and employees of the same age.

So, you understand that, I understand that, but the club appears to have cast him adrift? I'm just trying to work this out as an outsider looking in from afar. He can't be on a huge wage so it seems of no benefit to us to lose him.

In his defence, we've been shit most of this year and we lost 4 straight early last year as well. The lack of offloading by our forwards is not conducive for any decent fb play imo.

Lets hope so. His attack is very Semi-esque and once in the open it appears he'll not be run down. Think listed at 103kg but looks much bigger than that. We can only hope an offseason of training will improve his defence.

He was sooking because he didn't have fb position so didn't try imo.
