Looking at yesterday's game between Dogs and St Geo, it appears Dragons have adopted our style of play with obvious results. Now Dogs on other hand, had them pencilled in for wooden spoon, have bought in some youngsters and they are now playing attractive football, and winning. Damming indictment that our halves, with all their experience, are playing worse than Dogs 2 youngsters. Wtf is happening? Is BA at fault or something else happening? It is a real worry that he'll be there next year!
The fact that we went from 4th to 16th in one season is inexcusable and ultimately the buck stops at the Big-dog. So he has to go now in my view (unless his replacement like Holbrook or Flanagan are not available until 2020).
The reason why sides slide however is very complex and would love everyone to first analyse the demise of the Cowboys, why they have been hot and cold all year and then play like the All Blacks on Friday.
Same analysis with STG. They were premiership favs leading into origin, then started to slide. They were horrible yesterday and I think we would have put them away. The Footy Gods have been very kind to them this year with injuries, yet they have really hit the wall.
Yes we have been shit pretty much all year, but I find it compelling that there are teams who have great squads on paper, yet fail to deliver.
