Shane McElduff did say that the review has shown already that they didn't spend enough on the footballing program for 2018 and probably why we're advertising for a head of football, assistant strength and conditioning coach, head physiotherapist.

I personally would also be looking at bringing in a contact/wrestling coach.

We really needed a review to tell us that??? Plenty on here were pointing that out weeks into the season.

I’d be cutting ties with him. It’s not like he will be likely re-signed for 2020. Why waste another season and be distracted when we announce that we are going in another direction by mid 2019. If we think the extra help will assist him just extend him now for a year.

Not sure where that fear is coming from and whether it is founded. Most things i have heard or read imply BA has never knocked back help no matter what quarter it has come from.

Bern did say that, Nek Minnit we hired Kidwell.

That doesn’t make sense if they have offered a contract to Flanagan, as didn’t those 2 finish on bad terms?

Surely wouId want some input from the new coach (if it happens)........

Yes I heard Jimmy say the other day that he hasn't spoken to Flanno since his manager told him that he had been traded.

Toovey has been quoted as saying that he would. I’ll try and dig it up. Griffin was about to start a gig with a QLD state side before Gould hired him and Barrett may not have a choice if he doesn’t get the Panthers’ job.

I agreed that more money needed to be spent but was skeptical of my (and other's) observations as there wasn't a definite confirmation and after all we're just fans. But now as there's a definite confirmation then I can take it as gospel that there wasn't enough money spent on the footballing department.


I reckon maybe if you read back on your sentence you'd probably see why you were called a deathrider, you're already giving a negative nickname to a staff member before they've even had time to implement or do anything. It's probably not so much the message but the words used to convey it? Or unless you like being called a deathrider and whinger in which case keep using the same language I guess.

Could be a bit of both. BA was told that spending on the footy department needed to be cut so he said he'd do a lot himself. Both have now seen that isn't beneficial for anyone.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting to get any publicised results of the review.
I reckon the closest we get as fans will be witnessing new recruitment of players and staff and drawing a long bow as to what they mean as far as correcting 2018 issues go.

Im sure you are right MJC. Just hope we have The CEO and Board to get the job done. That said, The Media will probably get hold of a sneaky copy and expose all the juicy bits. Either that or some disgruntled ex board member/chairman will spread negative rumours as gospel.
When all is said and done, there are no excuses for finishing last. Things have to change.
