Just because TCT don’t say BA is shit, the club is shit, they all need to be sacked, doesn’t mean they aren’t critical. They just look at the reasons why we were poor, there is plenty in criticism in their review for example:

“When dissecting the 2018 season, it is impossible to ignore the dysfunction of the Eels halves pairing of Moses and Norman. For mine, the start and end of Parramatta’s woes are located here. It stifled the attack and resulted in the instability of other players across backline roles.”

“To that end, should the Eels enter 2019 with the same halves combination, I would expect a continuation of our misery. Like oil and water, they will never mix and one of the two needs to be moved.”

“My ISP and Jersey Flegg reports document my support for halfback, Dylan Brown. I believe that it would not be prudent to hold him back next year. On that basis, Moses moves into the danger zone”

“Nonetheless, without singling out individuals, a case could be made that it was only through loyalty (and/or the salary cap) that particular players retained their place in the top grade.”

“Ultimately, any players under consideration for promotion to first grade were coming from a losing ISP team, and that was never going to work out.”


“Without doubt, the Eels were impacted greatly by their lack of big forwards in the first half of this season.”

“Given that a number of the staff also take on responsibilities that would normally fall to a Head of Football, criticism must be made that the staffing was spread too thin for too long this season.”

I Rarely read the site anymore, anything remotely negative on there is deleted so I struggle to bother.


And those negative people on One eyed Trouser Snake have a much better strike rate than the Nuthuggers on TCT.

We are all fans and everyone has the right to say and take the season as they like. Just because they are negative and critical doesn’t make them any less of fans.

And I am always positive on here??? When the club does something good I will praise them and when they do something poorly or something I don’t agree with I will hammer them without reservation.

We have just won our 14th spoon(the most ever and 1 in every 5 seasons in our history)

We are an absolute rabble on and off the field this season, if you want to try and find positives and spin it good for you. I can’t and won’t, doesn’t make we any less of a fan. Just a whinging prick.

I was told on tct that the coaching staff was off limits because they made the top 4. I was also banned for commenting on Arthur's purchasing of players who were past it like Watmough on a 4 year deal or Scott 3 years, & the juniors situation earlier in the year.

I have not seen one negative comment relating to our roster management, club recruitment or or the lack of foresight concerning our smallish forward pack or why Bernie Gurr made himself head of football after he spent most of the last decade overseas. Surely he would have been out of touch with the who's who of the NRL with emphasis junior recruitment

TCT is a fan site and they have their own policies which should be respected and no doubt you have to tick a box which says you play by their rules much like new members have to do here.

Unfortunately I have never had the time to browse it in detail but I do read their articles on FB and for mine they are well presented and researched.

LU is a Rugby League forum where people opinions are encouraged with the exceptions of libel and defamation etc for legal reasons.

I can't really see how they would fit under our cap, tbh, even if Marty's contract is heavily subsidised by Manly.

I would think we are talking to anyone and everyone who would improve our roster or at least play the way that BA wants them to play.

As to what we can afford may depend on who we can offload.

I think our 2019 roster is not too bad on paper.

Lane and Paulo add some size up front.

Ferguson is the best winger in the game, and a very smart signing, imo.

Hopefully, we chase Isaac Luke - a tandem of Luke and Mahoney would be great, imo, and Mahoney is liable to need a break.

Lack of go forward and momentum in sets. No room,time or space.
Just like NFL if you control time you then create space and room. All of a sudden an average QB looks good. Instead of 2 seconds to operate he gets 3 or 4 to make decision.
I've seen what our halves can do when we have been on a roll. I feel their decision making is poor due to taking heightened risks knowing they get little space and time
