You fail to understand anything.

Flanagan - drug scandal with reporters hounding every training session

Bellamy - lol everyoneknows about the cap stripping of points

Stuart - the overhead projector gate. It was his first year of a forward planning rebuild.

I suppose this has been wiped from the history books:

http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-09/parramatta-eels-salary-cap-sanctions-ratified/7582924

“The hammer has finally come down on the Parramatta Eels for their systemic salary cap rorting, with the NRL ratifying the club's 12-point penalty among an assortment of punishments.

Also confirmed are a $1 million fine, the deregistration of five former board officials, as well as the stripping of the club's 2016 Auckland Nines title - which will cost the club a further $370,000 in prize money.

The 12-point penalty sees the Eels plummet from fifth on the NRL ladder down to 12th place on 12 points.

Five former officials - chairman Steve Sharp, deputy chairman Tom Issa, director Peter Serrao, chief executive John Boulous and football manager Daniel Anderson - have been deregistered.

The Eels were accused of breaking the NRL's salary cap in five of the previous six seasons. Parramatta was $570,000 over the cap this year before the club was forced to get rid of a number of players.

The NRL claimed the club hid payments, issued fake invoices to suppliers before passing those payments on to players, as well as procuring illegal third-party agreements.
In a statement, NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said he had considered the responses from the Eels and its five officials to the May 3 breach notices, but there was "insufficient information ... to warrant any change to the penalties originally proposed".

"The overall impression that I got from the responses is that no one at the club has taken responsibility for the deliberate, systemic and blatant breaches of the salary cap," Greenberg said.

"We have to take a stand to demonstrate that the NRL will not tolerate contraventions of the salary cap which plays such a crucial role in giving us one of the closest competitions in Australian sport."”

The fact BA even got us to the finals in 2017 let alone the top 4 after the above was a f**ken coaching miracle!!

Fake news

Bellamy got one in 2010 lol
Not his fault you reckon? If he didn't deserve that spoon then Arthur deserved to make the finals in 2016.
Brown got three trying to rebuild the Knights.
Nope, only two. What was that about fake news?
Flanno won one on the back of the drugs scandal.
And he was suspended, so it must've been his fault.
There's 50% of spoons that didn't warrant the sack
Most spoons don't warrant the sack.
Ricky got his trying to clean out the eels and in his first year
I'd say every coach who wins the spoon does so because he lost the dressing room attempting a cleanout. That includes Arthur this year.
Kearney achieved 2 with parra in his first couple of years
Just one actually, and technically your mate Arthur was coach when we won the spoon in 2012.
BA is the worst candidate in his 5th year of a rebuild, it's absolutely unacceptable
Actually it's the second year of the second rebuild that needed to occur after the 2016 scandal. How many coaches have had to rebuild twice in five years?
One decent forward signing in 5 years (brown) & a whole heap of duds with the latest Evans.

As you can see most coaches achived the spoon under duress trying to build a team out if previous selfish club coaches who were trying to save themselves ala brad arthur.
As you can see, Arthur has had to do this twice now.
Could you imagine Dean Pay who's trying to build the dogs buying a Watmough 600k, a hoffman, Matagi, Vave or a 31 year old Scott 500k for 3 years. Brad is a selfish coach who only wanted short term success to save himself.
He did but now look, another rebuild coming up and no chance of competing for a title anytime soon
Who says there's no chance of competing for a title? We made the top four last year, immediately after a rebuild. We can do it again.

We probably won't though, but it won't be Arthur's fault. Buying a premiership is out of our price range, and our talented youngsters (Mahoney, Salmon, Kaufusi, Dunster, Parry, Faingaa, Utoikamanu and Dylan Brown) aren't quite ready yet.

Maybe because while neither of those incidents are illegal, our management missed the opportunity to do something about it as they were more concerned with challenging their own salary cap breach notices at the same time.
Receiving a warning for consorting is a legal matter.

How bad, player wise, did the 2016 SCS effect us? Who were we forced to lose?
Peats? Was unsigned beyond 2016 so probably wasnt part of BAs plan?
Paulo? We wernt prepared to match other offers but I reckon we might be making up that shortfall over the next few years.
Anyone else?
Was the rebuild as big as some make out?
Genuine question.

Aaaaaaagh welcome back Pou, Gronks crown is under serious threat.
You can't have it both ways, merkin. I think Arthur is responsible for our poor season, but I've shown you that plenty of better coaches than Arthur have had shit seasons as well. One bad year is meaningless in the context of a career. Brian Smith won the spoon in his second and third seasons. He was an ok coach.

It's not just whom we were forced to lose. It was also who we were able to sign or re-sign to fill out our squad for 2017. Most players won't sign a one year contract. They will take less per-year for a longer contract.
