My recollection is that Norman was suspended and fined for bringing the club and game into disrepute as a result of his legal and illegal indiscretions.

My assertion that the management of the club were remiss in their handling of Norman at the time is just that... an assertion. Not the same as saying they were negligent in their duties as such.
