Mate, sorry but 11 clubs have none (see my later post). Whilst it would be an ideal situation, first and foremost the Boards role is strategy, leadership and governance. The CEO is responsible for delivering business results within those boundaries.

I could comment on Gurr, however I choose not to.
I'm no Fitzy fan but we have been in a state of flux since he left. So who is responsible for the failure of this year besides Arthur who apparently didn't get enough help? I suggested he needed help after a month into the season before I called for his head.

Anyhow if we wanted to appoint a former player to the board, Mick Cronin wouId be pretty good. Has some business back ground, coached in the NRL, is respected, and is still very involved in footy as a very successful country coach.

Fitzgerald left because the members voted in 3P and Roy Spagnolo and in their desire for power, they appointed one of their own. 3P left because the members weren't happy with the performance of the 3P Board and their 3rd CEO in 4 years. Sharp and co left because they couldn't arrange TPA's legally and they had 3 CEO's inside of their 3 years in charge... who is to blame for 2018's on-field performance???

All of the above, all of this years contracted players, all of this years Parra Eels employees, coaching staff, the current Board and as equally, the members for initiating the shit of the last 9 years and continuously repeating it by allowing a popularity contest to determine who leads our club. Oh, and AFL Guy too.

SHOOSH

WE mentioned recently how a media identity had applied for the GM’s job at Parramatta. It appears he’s well in the mix as he has interviewed for the position and is on the shortlist.

SPOTTED III

A COUPLE of Parramatta Eels legends have finally succumbed to old knee injuries. Bob “The Bear” O’Reilly, 69, had a knee replacement done in Hills Private Hospital last week. And up on the Goldy, David Liddiard, 57, had the same surgery at Robina Private.

SALE-PRICE EELS

IT’S been a tough winter for Peter Wynn and his sports store at Parramatta as a result of the Eels collecting the wooden spoon. The second-row legend has been left with a huge amount of blue and gold stock and has been forced to sell jerseys that normally retail for $169.99 at just $66.99.

“We’re lucky Souths and the Dragons made the finals,” Wynn said. “They’ve saved us from a total disaster.”

I would be happy picking from the following:
Cronin
Edge
Sterling
Wynn
Eden
Coburn
Moseley

They have all been somewhat successful in their post football careers.

I believe Both Dave woods and Scott Mahon were also both successful business men post foo

So nobody was white-anting the club until Fitzgerald got the sack? Massive coincidence!

Unfortunately we had Max, whose remit was to stop the Leagues Club from haemorrhaging cash. Mission accomplished.

Initially we all thought Graham Hughes.
No way it could be Hadley could it?
Hughes brother is a bit of a talent spotting guru apparently. We might get a package deal.

You never agree with anyone. You will always go the opposite you twisted bastard. You have always been the defender of all things shit. Be it the coach, some crap player or administration. Like I said I don’t know where you get the energy. But carry on. It’s cool.
There’s a bunch of merkins here I agree with all the time. But unlike you (and most posters here) they don’t divide everything into the twin categories of ‘best ever’ and ‘worst ever’. You think the grass is greener everywhere but Parramatta. Except when we win a few games and suddenly you’re over-rating us.

At least I give a rating. You are happy to wallow in mediocrity. You are the epitome of our poor culture.
