Rumours and Stuff

I just feel French is too scared of the collisions in the game to be a successful fullback. Maybe he can be coached out of it, but he hardly contests in the air when he has someone steaming down on him, which is pretty vital fullback play
I agree. But if we hire Slater as our fullbacks coach he could teach him a few tricks.

Let's run with this. Care to share your full 2019 team ( taking into account what we have available to us atm)?

Not sure if this will work but wouldn’t mind seeing the following in a trial:

1. French
2. Hayne
3. Gutho
4. Jennings
5. Ferguson

French/Hayne can swap at times.

The problem I see is that Moses and Norman don't work together, and neither can really be shifted to another position. Norman isn't a good fullback, despite some flashes of ability there. But it's a long time until the season starts so I'm hopeful we can offload at least one of them.

Norman and Moses worked together just fine in 2017. The problem is our structure didn't suit the refereeing of 2018.
I think we were getting away with murder in the play the balls last year. So we went on a bit of a run and had more than our fair share of wins, but a lot of them were coin toss results. The halves weren't great. And the refereeing in 2019 will probably resemble 2018 more than 2017, so it's no wonder we're looking to offload a half, along with the other changes.

Gus is a joke, no way we need a egotistical wanker like him. O’Neill will be a good appointment who will compliment the coach and ceo moving forward IMO

I disagree. Gus turned the Panthers around. They where never a finals side. Always hanging in the bottom half.
Its hard to win the comp but being in the finals 4/5yrs is decent along with under 20s always there and NSW cup. On a whole id be happy if our club was able to do the same.
