Are any of those blokes about to turn 32 and are we offering up a 4 year deal???

Manly only were willing to offer him 2, but we offer him 4. Yeah the club was just unlucky again.
This is exactly the issue regardless of his influence on the team..a 4 year deal for a forward who is 32, and please don’t compare him to Cronk, the best hb of his generation FFS

Jarryd W Hargreaves
193 cm (6 ft 4 in)
Weight 116 kg (18 st 4 l

Nrl site states he is 108kg, the roosters site states 108kg however your source Wiki could be correct.

Anyhow still only 3 players which Glenneel states is not enough big men for a pack!

Our pack is not only light, it lacks leg speed. Mannah isn't getting any quicker, Evans runs like a praying mantis with dumbells wrapped around his ankles, and Alvaro although a very good worker, hardly dominates the opposition

The forwards will go much better if we start our sets well in the backs.
Ferguson will help a lot. I'd upgrade Jennings wing spot also.
Jnr will add punch. That is 3 positions to help get a roll on.
Then we need to hope Niakuore,Kafusi step up and Gutherson and Hayne get into good form. Then top 4 is possible.

Manu alone will also add some punch out wide.
The pack looks different with him,Lane and Jnr in it. Its 3/9.
I dont see anyone in our pack going backwards. I think Tepai,Lane,Alvaro,Niakuore,Kafusi,Jnr all.have improvement in them and Terepo can still iron out a few details and get better.

We offered four and he was off our cap in less than two. And he’s the same age as Smith, Slater, Cronk and Thurston, who all played this year.

Watmough was our best forward when he played?? Lol I call bullshit, I remember he cost us in a few tight games with some stupid rookie errors. He was solid at best, revision history Pou style.
After the coach got him to focus on running rather than playmaking he was strong for us. And his defence was always good.

Was Watmong still in the team by the time Alvaro debuted??? He was injured in the Storm game and the Polar debuted against the Riff later in the season I thought. And we all know he didn’t stick around at training and help the younger blokes because he admitted it himself.
He only said he didn’t socialise with them. Why would he need to? Leadership isn’t talking shit over coffee after training.

Are you seriously comparing an undersized Middle forward who played well above his weight his whole career to two halves who could get through games in a dinner suit and Smith the greatest player of his generation??? Wow!! Smith does a heap of work in the middle but the merkin rarely gets tackled with the ball.

Well if you don’t laugh you cry, and I sure those two games with Watmong made him into the player he is today. 3 million bucks well spent.
No one said Watmough made Alvaro into the player he is.

I responded to Chiefy's claim regarding Watmough providing NO benefit to our young forwards by staring there was only ONE young forward even debuting when Watmough was at the club.

Exciting times they were hey!!

Looking at that list, does anyone think that there is a team with better external signings than we have?
Most teams only have two or three, and not many have the quality we have gained.
I know we are starting from a lower point than other teams, but I can't fault the recruitment for next year so far.

We offered four and he was off our cap in less than two. And he’s the same age as Smith, Slater, Cronk and Thurston, who all played this year.

But none are battering rams Pou.
In NFL QBs go till 40ylds. A running backs done by early 30s. Sure some forwards play well just like Lewis and Gallen into there mid 30s. But it is rare. Most drop off by late 20s or very early 30s. Some are still decent in their 30s but never at peak.

Our squads fine imo. Quite healthy looking. We get a home stadium again which is a bonus and lets hope a better run with injuries and bounce of the ball.

My question would be who in our squad is on down hill slide for 2019? And did anyone have a career best year this season? Also how many are on the up?
Id say we are in better shape then most squads.

Sharks are established. Few guys getting old. I dont see a squad on the up.
Souths had lot of players who had career years. Also aging squad.
Storm lose slater. Cam gets older.
Roosters? Well great squad.
Panthers - Lose Peachey. Maybe teams on up but 2019 maybe the end of their window.
Saints - Few guys getting old
Brisbane - On up but still no halves
Warriors - Johnson and Luke aging. Unsure if squads stronger

Out of top 8 I see Titans as big improvers.Knights and Cowboys also. The rest seem weaker.

Parra are in one of better positions of the 16 clubs.
