If we can offload French and Mennings and bring in Seggy and Peachey that’s looking like a pretty decent side. If we also release one of our halves, Peachey could move to 6, Salmon comes into the centres and we could go for another big man in Kapow or Napa.

Realistically, how much would French be on? $250-$300k? We might be willing to chip in just under the min wage so he’s still outside our top 30 and so the dogs pick up a fullback for around $200k. It makes sense actually.

We open up a top 30 spot and free up around $300k of cap space. That should easily cover seggy. If we can release Mennings (and probably have to chip in) we’d be closer to snagging Peachey.

All this hinders on each player agreeing obviously.

People seem to forget they let Mbye and Woods go along with Eastwood and the morris twins. That is 3 million worth of players. Who have they signed? A cpuple of bench players.
I am sure they have money to spend.

Didn't they just sign the young fullback from the Knights Meaney? He looks like a decent prospect. They have a couple of good wingers over there too so hard to see where he would fit in at dogs any better than at Parra

Surely the dogs are in a reasonable cap place now .... they have dropped alot of salaries

Morris x2, Eastwood, Graham totally off their cap now?, mbye and woods mostly off their cap

Who is left on decent coin? ... klemmer, foran, hoppa, jackson ... maybe a few on overs but not massive coin, like tolman

Mbye in form he was easily attract 600k offers. And plenty of clubs would of been interested in Woods ao his price would not of halved. Im sure they took a big hit this year for the future.

I reckon the worse thing for Dogs was playing great end of season with all these young blokes. That meant they gave self hope and most these guys advertised themself for other clubs, meaning Dogs have to increase salary or offer.Playing well for last 8 games isn't always a benefit for future.

You forget that the problem at the Dogs were backended contracts. So whilst a player might have been worth $500k his backended contract value for 2019 was $800k.
