No need to change your opinion like I said it’s a fair assumption. However so is josh’s that they want to be rid of the halves because junior development is ahead of schedule.
Time will tell.

It obviously has. We were building nicely until getting caught in 2016. Then we had to rebuild. In a lot of ways 2017 gave us false hope because the coach got some marginal personalities (and some marginal talents) to overachieve. They obviously couldn't keep it up and imploded this year. Why not f**k some of them off early if we can? They won't be here beyond next year so why not let them settle their futures elsewhere? With the potential offloading of our halves, it’s evident the plan thus far has failed. Until I see otherwise or see more stability/better recruiting then I won’t be changing my opinion.
And it’s all been very exciting.I was having a look through LU and saw that of the top 20 commenters on here 8 are Eels supporters, or at least predominantly post in the Eels forum. Great work on posting such thought provoking discussion Eels fans.
What’s the point paying them to play elsewhere. Isn’t this what RS did and we got into a huge mess cap wise?
No, RS wanted to move on players but couldn’t replace them with players currently in our squad / system.
We can replace Jennings / Norman and or Moses with current contracted players for their top 17 spots while we have the ability to bring juniors on cheap contracts to cover some top 30 positions.
RS couldn’t do that!
Thats assuming its all on the players and coaching has played no part in their decline. It obviously has. We were building nicely until getting caught in 2016. Then we had to rebuild. When Ricky did it it was bad but when BA does it it's good.Yeah but the reason we were in a mess is because we had several players on our books while at different clubs. It’s no different just because it’s BA attempting to do it. He’s built this team now he’s attempting to offload our highest paid players and the defenders are out in force. It can be sugarcoated but it’s still not ideal.
I am good Hindy how are you today???How are you hineyrulz
Watching the GF and watching the Roosters defensive effort showed me we are lightyears away from being close to winning a GF.Thats assuming its all on the players and coaching has played no part in their decline.
Just look at how The Roosters defended with 12 men for an entire GF against a very good Storm Team. Thats the type of defence our team is simply not capable of. The question is why. Do you honestly believe, based on what we've seen these past 5 years, that we are heading in the right direction? Sure we finally have some talent providing hope but if they come into the current playing structures their future looks bleak. I hope all is better than what it appears to my untrained eye.

Things can change quickly if issues are recognised and corrected. We need fresh ideas within our playing systems.Watching the GF and watching the Roosters defensive effort showed me we are lightyears away from being close to winning a GF.
You can very quickly go from good to shit and vice versa in this game. That’s an opinion formed by watching thousands and thousands of games rather than just one.Watching the GF and watching the Roosters defensive effort showed me we are lightyears away from being close to winning a GF.

Good morning Hindy111. I hope you have a wonderful day.Good morning everybody
It is different if we have players in the squad that can replace them when previously we didn’t.
Of course it’s different. How is it anything other than different?
Is it ideal? Of course not and by suggesting it is different no-one is arguing that BA has done a fine job. It’s clear he hasn’t.
Its not me saying we have no cap space, its the DT. But I agree wholeheartedly about our squad. You're kidding, right? We run near the bottom every year, and we have about 8 blokes who would even make it in another first grade squad. Of course we've got cap space to spare...
Which players do we have in the squad that are ready for fg? Remember Moses was bought only 18 months ago.
Why would we need to offer more money to Hayne? Its not like he is in huge demand from any other club and he is injury prone. If I was running the club I'd offer $400k take it or good bye. To me that is good value for money.Yep. Not dissimilar to our Hayne dilemma.
No doubt he will want;
. More money.
. A longer term.
Would we be repeating the sins of the past re signing him? Will he join the list headed by, Moses, Norman, Mennings and French? What evidence is there that he will play the majority of games hes contracted for? I reckon hes a huge gamble as good as his end of season form was. Maybe this is why he remains unsigned?
