Dont remember Ba recruiting Semi, Sandow, Norman. French was in our system and Hayne returning was hardly a win for the club.

Mental Health issues

Fair enough, but that is a pretty board issue. Plenty of players had have “mental health” issues. Obviously we know now they were pretty bad but at the time I suspect even Toovey didn’t know how big they were (or going to be) or he wouldn’t have tried to re-sign him if he didn’t think he could perform.

Plenty of people have mental health issues which are manageable but then suddenly they turn for the worse. Its why there is so much focus on it.

Our pack has been poor for years and one good year since 2009 does not a good pack make. We still copped hidings in 2017 and other factors led to our result, including the form of Semi and facing Storm and Cowboys without their best players.

The pack was good from ‘14-‘16 as well. In 2014 and ‘15 we had Sandow stinking up our defensive line. In 2016 we won enough games to make the finals.

Apples with apples but. Six years at the Broncos is vastly different than six years here after the clusterf**k years of Ricky and Bigface then the cap.

Not saying he should be renewed. 2018 was barely forgivable bordering on unforgivable.

2018 was woefull but lot of bad timing.
I still think the season died when bad luck against NZ,Dogs,Brisbane.... We should of won those 3 concecutive games. We didnt have a full squad, we missed chances and had bad call from reffs.
Flip them and the teams fires up, everyone runs harder and concentrates more. Its easy to say there professional athletes but its hard in a physical game to put in thst little extra when the result wont chnage fact you cant make finals. And wby so many teams start season strong and get blown out end of season in some games. Even the Tigers copped 50 point in last round.

We where not good in the eay when things didnt go our way we lacked patience. But when the squad was relatively fit( not once did we have our best 17) we where very competetive.

I think that also says plenty about the lack of quality halves around at the moment.

Are we a better team with Norman gone ? Yes, if he is as disruptive as some contend.

I want Norman he is class. If he goes and we roll with Moses and Brown we might be light on options if Bevan doesnt work out at fullback.
Perhaps we need a centre so Guth can slot in.

But hey maybe Parry,Salmon are ready. I am also not against Taka there. He isnt best in defense but attacks as good as most.
