Ponga was rated and hyped for a long time. We all heard about him. Knights landed a million dollar player for 650k odd but I bet theyl have to upgrade him.
Plus a full year on tape, other coaches will get too work. Lets see how great he is.

Kikau still was a work in progress. He was taken in 2016 once too old for 20s and spent season in reserves. He also spent most of 2017 in NSW cup.
I doubt he was signed on silly dollars. But whatever he was paid was most likely poor value as played only a handfull of games off the bench over first 2 seasons. It wasnt till 2017 that they re-signed him for longer then re exteneded.

Yes know his history. I was specifically mentioning Kikau as Penrith could see his potential but persevered with him until ready to play NRL full time at about 22. And look at him now, one of the most destructive forwards in the comp. He had good foundations for a forward, importantly size mixed with skill, but obviously lacked the maturity to employ them correctly until later in life. Actually past an age when most forwards are put on the scrap heap by clubs unable or unwilling to wait any longer.

Would you trade Keppie for Kafusi or Stephano Right now if you could?
I am sure you may argue could of kept all 3. But 3 rookie Props in top 30 is risky.
I am happy with potential of 2 young props in our top 17. Not interested in having 3 of them. Need some experience. Alvaro,Jnr,Terepo can provide that.
