I managed to take this photo last time I was there.Differrent place, the Plow inn is a place perfect for Bones on Bones action.
They have the same salary cap grant as every other team .... but also a chance for some half decent local TPAsThose Newcastle players that i mentioned are either at the top of their game, or are undeniable future superstars.
Evans and Hoffman on the other hand were below average players.
That's the difference
Newcastle a one team town ? But almost went bankrupt very recently, and don't have a very rich league's club backing them.
"by Pou" or "from Pou"?
Stick to learning basic f**ken english instead of trying to position yourself as a smart guy or I'll eat a dodgy vindaloo before my next Bones on Bones visit!
I reckon we paid more than Pou will admit but as your mate Hindy said, it is not a big deal in the scheme of things. If we assume that the 'play longer minutes' experiment failed then if he does what he did at the Roosters he will be fine at Parramatta. As you said in another post, injuries haven't helped so far.
Unless of course BA, should have spotted his 'fragile bones' like you did?
So we decided he wasn't good enough for a shit team? Instead he was only good enough for a strong team? Makes sense.
He doesn’t need to shine to be effective and offer value for money.Well, I think quite possibly Arthur should have realised that Evans was playing a very limited role at Easts, and that he had far superior players around him, which may have made him look better than he actually was. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. I don't hold that against BA too much, but at the same time I don't think it was a very astute buy. We don't have the roster that Easts have, so I don't think Evans will ever shine in our outfit.
When we signed him BA said he would add depth.
A strong team has higher standards. Mediocre players don’t survive if they can’t meet those standards.Yes, it certainly does. It's a lot easier to play well and look good in a strong team.
No he wasn’t. Evans adds depth. And he was wrong about that.
Edwards was picked in jersey 19. He was available.
So the problem was the team not the player.Yes, it certainly does. It's a lot easier to play well and look good in a strong team.
Obviously. Merkins think every signing needs to improve the team. But some of them just add depth. He doesn’t need to shine to be effective and offer value for money.

That's fine. As long as we can both agree that the measure of success is not as high as where you originally had it placed.Well, he hasn't been effective so far. And the value will depend on two things: 1. exactly how much money we paid for him, and 2. whether he gets back into first grade and is 'effective' or not. So far, he has not offered value for money.
On that we can agree.Gary, I reckon even you could look good inj that team over short bursts.
He offers an additional option that you don't rate. It's still an additional option whether you like it or not.He only adds depth if he is 1. an effective replacement for an injured player, or 2. playing well enough in reserve grade to put pressure on first grade players to retain their spots. He hasn't done either so far, so he has not added any depth, nor has he provided value for money.
