Context and history is important.

Deathrider was actually just a response to the nut.hugger shit that started.

There was a period where if you weren’t savaging BA and you were calmly pointing out circumstances that didn’t fit a certain narrative then you were labelled one. Last check I think Gronk was the king of the nut.huggers but myself, Pou and even Strider have had the honour for a while.

Does it make the deathrider label right? Of course not, but given the situation it’s an understandable retaliation.

Also, I still don’t think the use of deathrider has been as prevalent as the word nut.hugger. One of the words has actually been changed by mods because it’s use was so annoying (and it’s doesnt start with ‘d’).

That said, the one thing we can agree on is ‘bring on the football’. Once that starts everything else is irrelevant.

You should, it was pointed out by a few people at the time and you brushed it off...

You're a f**king hypocrite. What you really mean is that you hate people who shut down free speech THAT YOU AGREE WITH but you've got no issue with shutting down "free speech" that you personally dislike.

If a few people pointed out that I tacitly supported Gleneel or Gazza in having a crack at posters' partners, because I didn't say anything about it, then that would mean that everyone on the forum - except those few people - tacitly agreed with it also. Either the vast majority of us is at fault, or the alleged 'crack' at posters partners was so trivial that hardly anyone thought to say anything. What was the crack, anyway? Maybe you could find the post and we can let the forum judge how bad it was.

I am a realist. I have always been sceptical about BA signings. And I still dont think he is that smart. He is a bit of a dope. I pointed out how a lot of our wins in 2017 where very close and could of went the other way.
BA never changed tactics. And he seemed confused where guys should play. So for pointing out this I get called a deathrider.

But this year I like our chances. I like the size of our pack and I feel the young guys will be very good. I also think Potter would be helping a lot with the attack and tactical side of things. And we have a backrower who from 10mtrs out can break the line amd score in Lane.

Nut.Hugger (you need to put a dot between the ‘t’ and the ‘h’ or it will come out as ‘titty twister’ thanks to the mods who got really sick of the term) was definitely first and has been used far more than ‘deathrider’. I did my research before I made my original point.

As for your point on ‘perpetuating things’, I respect your view (which I know Gazamatta and Suity share) but I suspect the majority don’t get too caught up in what they see as a bit of harmless banter.

All good though, I understand your concerns completely and will keep them in mind when I next disagree with someone that I think is being negative.

That’s my end of the bargain. Now if you can be as vigilant as you have with me when you see other provocative posts then hopefully together we can make the forum a better and more respectful place.
