Yeah I also read this good signing if true.Telegraph reported this morning that Nathan Brown has signed a two year deal with us in their little titbit section. I read it while I was having my coffee so don't ask for a link.

If he's such a good attacker (and given his small size) then defence is almost certainly what has led to him being stuck on a non-NRL contract this year. In that case hooker is the last place you want him defending.A wild thought here...
Anyone know if Jamal could be an option of training through the off season and becoming our hooker for 2017? He is very versatile and from what I've seen a good defender. We all know he can playmake well at Cup level, in fact he is one of the best. We all know he is a gun goal kicker too.
Just a thought, but COULD he be a quality hooker option..?

I watched the 1st half so far of the QLD cup game from Wednesday on Fox.
Really hard to gauge what kind of player he is TBH. Even though he's No.7 he only got his hands on the ball on the 5th tackle cos the hooker just dished it one out to the pigs. He would not get the pill every set either cos the 5/8th that Manly signed was a bit of a hog.
Early on he put up a shit bomb which came off the side of his boot. He followed the ball across to the midfield and regathered it after it bounced. He then chipped over the top of the FB and winger, regathered and scored.
He strikes the ball nice, looks like a good GK technique.
Doesn't look like he has a very long kick on him BTW. That could improve with coaching I guess.
Hard to say much based on one game, but he doesn't look like an organiser to me. That all fell to Cameron Cullen it seemed, and Fogarty sort of popped up all over the place. He had some nice touches though, and his attitude was great...following that miskicked bomb all the way across field to create a try was the obvious one, but he was always on the go
These guys are part timers. They don't have dozens of hours a week to practice a complex game plan.Agree that he did not look like an organiser, but TBH the Burleigh Bears don't look all that organised ! Their game plan is pretty much - here have a run mate.
Out of that QLD cup game the only half I thought had much of a future was Croft the Tigers 7.

There are a couple of photos of training this week on the official site that suggest Gutherson might be attacking outside French on the right hand side of our shape.Just give French a run at half back in trials, see how he goes. Could surprise. Probably a better option then most of the halves suggested.
