Rumours and Stuff

Prior has more go forward in him than most our pack put together ... and last I checked has a premiership ring as a front rower

Don’t won’t a superstar just a big body that bends the line and creates momentum

Prior is a good player, but not a big body (105kgs for a prop) and didn't make the Top 50 players in average post-contact metres per game in 2018 (whereas Brown and Ma'u did). He'd be a fair replacement for someone like Mannah, but we don't need any more players of his ilk.

I don’t know what you’ve seen, but I’ve seen no difference in our players.

In what capacity did they mentor our players?

Well you've claimed they didn't. And now you've attempted to claim that learning from older players should be visible in representative ability.

So you first.

In what capacity did our players not learn from older players?

How have you formed that opinion? What quantifiable values have you seen to suggest that no learning has taken place whatsoever?

You're also hung up on "mentoring" as the only way a young player can learn from an older one. Why?

Yeah read that. There’s other fish in the sea, maybe a halves coach to work with the spine. Just not sure a player like Luke is the answer.

I dont see him as a leader at all.

These guys should lead for future

Jnr, tepai,gutherson,alvaro, ferguson, N.Brown, terepo,moses

Sure some are young but theyve played plenty of first grade .

We have old guys in jennings, mannah, gower, manu, taka, hoffman

Is LUKE seen as a better leader then any ive listed? Good played 4yrs ago. Now njust a has been.

Forward pack is fine. Unless we released say Evans or Mannah and signed a stud we should stick and go.
We have a young side. Be patient and it will blossum. A centre or fullback would be handy if popped up.

They just finished last did they not?

So explain to me, what the benefits were of having the older guys?

Didn’t Luke have one of his best years last year? Hardly a has been.

Again, what does that have to do with learning from older players? You haven't answered any of the questions at all.

You are simply linking us coming last to your argument without any evidence that there is a link.

Why does a player have to be a mentor for someone to learn from them? How have you established that our players have learned nothing from the older players?

Like I said, it can be hard to quantify. But you are essentially arguing against history and human nature, and your only evidence seems to be "we came last." Younger players learn from older players, because younger humans learn from older humans. It's an established truth. Have we always picked the right players for our youngsters to learn from? Of course not, but that is a failing of that specific player, not a failing of all older players as you are trying to portray.

Why does he need to be a leader?

If we have all those guys who can do that, why does Luke need to anything but play hooker?

All hindy has said is that Luke may just come here looking for a pay day. Saying he may not come here to prove he’s the best, but rather just ‘go thru the motions’ so to speak.

All I’ve stated is that our recent purchases of ‘aging stars’ in recent times hasn’t panned out to well and maybe hiring a specialist coach may be a better option. And half the forum goes into meltdown....

He missed the most tackles in his last 7yrs in 2018.
Lowest TA in his last 11yrs was in 2018
Averaged 73mtrs running a game. That is 2nd worse in his 12yr career. Only beating his previous season when the warriors where garbage.

If these arent signs of a player in a decline then not sure what is. Had Luke played in the Eels side of 2018 his average running would be about 40mtrs. Just as in the games the warriors lost there is a sharp drop. And put Kaysa behind the warriors pack he wpuld average 70mtrs a game or more.

Who has actually "gone into meltdown"?

All anyone has really done is ask a couple of questions. Which you, for one, have tried to avoid I might add.

Did you even watch any Rugby League in 2018 ?

Dally M awards 2018 team of the Year nominees

Hooker: Damien Cook, Cameron Smith, Jake Friend, Issac Luke, Cameron McInnes

https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/09/19/dally-m-2018-team-of-the-year-contenders---forwards/

Dally M is gimicks. Sucks in the dummies. Sandow almost won it.

I operate on facts. I stated statistics showing Lukes form dip. He was great in a souths side that was also great. As Souths form dropped so did his. He looked average in NZ in 2016 and 2017. Behind a good pack he did better but started to miss tackles. His running game has almost halves since the peak of his career and his TA have become non existant.

The guys done. Id rather Kaysa who will be busting his balls or W.Smith tbh.

Let me add....Turns 32 soon and co ing of a shoulder reco of some sorts. FFS

Sorry I didn’t know you were the high and mighty here, that I had to answer too. My bad.
