We have Salmon, Gutherson, Smith and Takairangi who can all fill in there (with varying degrees of talent of course).

Yes I know they aren’t the best halves in the game...but they aren’t supposed to be. They are backups.

To each his own I guess but if through injury we started Taka and Smith as halfs I wouldn't fancy our chances.
Gutho should stay FB and Salmon should be a starting center. French as an option at half appeals much more to me than swapping players or relying on Smith and Taka. Unlike last season, I believe we are better served having players retained in their best position and not being moved around. You dont improve a team by weakening one position to cover for another. Fingers crossed Drown and Moses stay healthy.

Um...if we started with Taka and SMith in the halves that would likely mean we had lost 3-4 halves options in front of them

If you could go ahead and name a single club who could lose 3-4 halves options and still run out quality first graders at 6 and 7, that'd be great
