Kafusi is off bench
Jnr is one of form props in comp and an origin smokie
Tepai playing lock
Mahoney starting hooker
Mannah is coming off bench
Terepo is coming off bench

Nikuore,Stone,Salmon,Alvaro,Sivo who all debut in NRL for club will play in the 17 today.

Manu who debut for club in the NRL is injured.

Gutherson who we poached after 4 nrl games will start at fullback.

Its impressive how this squads been built imo.
A real team. I never liked the times when you'd sign 5 stars and jam them in.
Except that time we took them off Canterbury. That was very enjoyable.

It's not new. It's the same interpretation as it was in 2017. Back when we won 16 games, and 13 the year before.

He's played 11 Origins in the front row.

You mean the game where the Dogs' little pack were allowed to stifle Souths' quick play-the-balls? They generally let that go prior to 2018 as well.

Oh so it is new for 2019.

Only because the QLD are light on Front rowers. He can play in the middle, but that is not his regular position.

They slowed it down at the ruck when defending, frustrating them and it nearly worked. But for the most part the refs have allowed the game to flow this year.

He only played on the edge at club level because it allowed him to play longer minutes and run at halfbacks. But he's always been a defensive liability out wide, which is why he rarely played there for Queensland.

'Allowing the game to flow' means letting teams put on the grubby shit, like they let us do in 2016 and '17. It means erring on the side of not blowing the penalty. Canberra have been doing it every week this year, and really got under our skin. They only conceded six penalties last week. In 2018 they would've conceded at least double that. So would we, for that matter.

Takas form has been good
15 offloads
3 TAs
2 LBAS
2 Tries

Defense fine.

Just needs to not force the ball sometimes. I enjoy watching him
Unsure if I would put Salmon there when D.Browns back.
Is Taka any chance of being signed for 2020?

What’s Mick thinking, he worthy of another year? I’ll be happy to extend him.

I remember reading somewhere that the club is trying to extend Taka and Mennings for another year.

There was some pinpoint kicks by Moses. Good to see us highlight a weakness in the opposition and then exploit it.

Most games this year have been cleaner in the ruck ffs. But yes, if the refs are adverse to blowing the whistle, it will get very messy and ugly again at the ruck. But for the first few rounds at least, most teams have been toeing the line from the directive of the NRL/Refs, as Bennett mentioned last week, but he or I can't see it lasting. It's human nature.

Also WTF with the shot clock / scrum clock etc. No long ago they were policing it and now they don't give a crap. Yesterday at the ground the clock ticked past 30 secs every time.

I agree, but I think I noticed that the offending team, was mostly the non-feeding team, still getting their shit together at the scrum. So maybe the ref thinks it is different somehow?

I don't get it either.

By memory was 2 head high tackles that resulted in HIA. And a penalty.
Wasn't Jenning sin binned for that in round one?
Little confused

If we re-sign Moses for anything around 750-800K, Gutho for around 700K, Reedy for around 300-400K and Brown for around 500-600K and they all maintain their current form(in Brown's case gets better with experience of course) then I think we are way ahead on value for money and will have a very, very high quality spine for years to come.

The rest of the team can be built and rebuilt around these guys for the next 5 to 10 years. That is what Melbourne has done with the initial big 4, then the big 3, then the big 2, and now the big 1. I haven't included Munster because he is a late comer into the team and wasn't in the initial big four. Also, once Smith is gone, Munster will not be able to do what Smith can on his own. He will need a lot of help around him and that type of help doesn't grow on trees.

Apparently its only sin bin worthy if the incident is put on report. Then the question needs to be asked, if there was illegal play that resulted in Alvaro leaving the field, why wasn’t it put on report.
