As part of the original deal, we took 2 games to NT (trial match in Alice and NRL round in Darwin). We provide teaching clinics in the lead up to both games, our injured players will travel early and spend the week visiting schools, etc. and we provide a trophy for the NT High Schools knock-out comp, called the Eels Cup. In addition, there is a few $$ spent in town by visitors who make it a holiday and of the course the NT Tourism gets on our jersey,website, etc. as normal sponsors do.
NRL is in strong competition for the young players up there against AFL which has been playing a game up there for years more than us. This sponsorship and the work we do up there is important to continue to foster the growth of RL in the NT. And as I said elsewhere, we have won 80% of our games so it is one of our more successful roadtrips.

Plus it opens up another territory to source juniors, who you would think, would desire to go to Parra rather than any other club.

Why? Jennings never really learnt how to pass with any confidence and has managed to forge quite a successful career. Passing the ball rates very low on the skillset required for a winger. I’d say the major responsibilities Sivo excels at.

Is he off contract at the end of this year? If so, now is exactly the time to look at extending him to avoid a bidding war as more clubs take notice.
