I think that Gutherson at 6 and French at 1 just works for this team. What the alternative? Play gutho at centre and French on the wing with Taka off the bench??? French out of the team and Gutho back to the wing??? Gutho to the bench?? Gutho to FB and French sign somewhere else??

Gutho at 6 and French at 1 puts our best young talent in position to make an impact.

You're probably right but Stagger's post made it seem like he was "way, way" off the mark when he said Guth would be our first choice fullback. If it will in fact be French, I don't think he would have posted like that.

This is why I think the re-signing of IDG was a mistake as it seriously limits our capacity to bring in a better option. As I mentioned previously, we're going to struggle to fit three hookers in our top 25 and unless IDG is our 25th highest paid player, I don't think we can really bring another one in.

If Guth and French are in the spine next year (which is fine by me) we absolutely had the capacity to spend big on a top shelf hooker, whether they are currently available or we needed to entice them to leave their current club.

Segeyaro is the obvious one.... but he isn't a noted kicker... but I'm sure it's somehting that could be honed...

My only issue with Segeyaro, apart from his drop in form that saw him released this year, is that he is a bit of a ball hog and has a tendency to run too much. I think quick early ball for Norman and Guth is crucial. Segeyaro would need to pick his moments to run better IMO to fit in to our system

Better he holds off for a year to get the half he wants than panic sign someone he isn't happy with.

Gutho will do a good enough job at 6, with Norman partnering him, they should go well, remember, if BA wants him to hang on to 6, he now has bunch of time to get his kicking game better, and fine tune the skills he needs to really cement himself at 6.
