IF we do nab DWZ, I see this as our preferred and probably strongest available backline.

1. Gutho
2. Sivo
3. Jenko
4. Fergo
5. DWZ
6. Smith until Drown returns
7. Moses

Moses needs a kicking option which so far hasn't proven to be Salmon and is probably one of the reasons he was sent back to Wenty at 6. We also have the current Wenty halfback given an Eels contract recently which if as suspected is a development contract, could see him enter the mix if we get injuries in the halves or post June 30.

Before I get smashed for moving the best winger in 2018 away from the wing, don't forget Fergo played centre for most of his time at the Raiders and Sharks and was moved to the wing to make way for the up and coming Latrell by Robinson.

Interesting to see how Fergo goes at centre tonight

My real issue is that I feel like it somewhat takes away his biggest strength, ie his involvement in attack in our own end especially. Plus it exposes his biggest weakness (positioning in defence). Obviously he can look for the ball, so that's the big thing that interests me.

Sure, however it is a better option than an unproven DWZ or Taka. Nothing to stop him dropping back for the 5th tackle and having DWZ defend one in on the last.

DWZ has zero play making skills. Gutho is still leading the NRL for try assists and linebreak assists from fullback.

DWZ is more powerful than Gutho for sure, although I don't reckon either is overly fast. I wouldn't be shifting Gutho for DWZ except maybe as a short term deal if we expect Brown back soon.

Plus you don't want DWZ handling the ball more than 12-15 times a game. He's an outside back for sure.

Good post.
1 thing Fergo will bring at centre is more energy and enthusiasm than Taka. Plus he reads the game better. Has better anticipation.
Barring the horrid pass and strip on him last week Gennings played well.
The benefit here is we will have 3 if not 4 blokes who will make over 100m per game.
Gennings, Sivo, Guth and Fergo.
Fergo will still make hitups at the start of sets.
If DWZ does arrive then it makes for healthy competition for the wing spots.
Go the Eels

Don't downplay the Hoff's metres. Last round he ran for 175 (one long intercept included) and in his only other 80 min game in 2019 (round 6) he ran for 110.

I saw him play a couple of games at fullback in the 2s last season and I thought he was dynamic. I reckon hes been hard done by at Parra. Go The Hoff.

The only reason I can think that he played centre was to help against Kikau in defence. But in attack he can't catch a ball at the line. He needs to go back to receiving the ball from the dummy half.
