Sure. But Rapana and Mansour form in 2017 was also excellent. Now Mansour is barely NRL level and while Rapana is great he isnt at his 2016/2017 form which was also excellent. Why can't Semi form dip? I am not saying it will. But it's a gamble.
Like Bandwagon said, even if his form dips he'll still be the game's best winger.

Agree to disagree mate. Semi was a freak but had plenty of errors in him. Sivo doesn’t have quite the freakish ability but is less error prone. If money was no object than you’d go Semi every time. Factoring in both of their salaries Sivo gets the nod for mine.

100%

Semi had errors in him.

But I reckon we would be sitting in the Top 4 now if he was on our wing...

Blake Ferguson scored two freaky tries on weekend. Ok one was disallowed but not many guys score those tries.
Does Semi?
Different players bring different things not just on field but off them

Maybe....The question is he worth close to 1 mill.
Wing seems a spot where you can actually pluck a cheapie and turn them into stars.
Rapana is a great example.
Too,Sivo and Garrick this season are a few cheapie performing at high levels.

Very slim chance especially if we offer MJ two years. We should rissole him now. Apart from kicks we struggle scoring points. We need strike MJ isn’t the answer
We score a lot from kicks because the opposition rushes up on us out wide.

Ferguson, Blake and Sivo offer plenty of strike out wide. Recruiting more starts to get into the diminishing returns territory. We can use our money better where it's needed.

Very true - Ferguson has scored several freakish tries this year.

Sivo is the more complete player for mine.

No one will likely get close to Semi as an attacking winger. But over the year Sivo has become very safe under the high ball for the most part, as you say he doesn't have the Semi Kenny Dowell side to him and his defence is much better than Semi too.

And at times there was a level of disinterest from Semi plus the shenanigans of dissappearing for a few days here and there.
Obviously we don't know exact details but there were a few times the club admitted he should have been back earlier and i think once took off to Fiji without letting the club know

Sure, but this is just as likely with any player Foran was a great example, the guy just fell apart.

I think Sivo is doing a great job, and will only get better...

But he will not get anywhere near Semi's level, imo.

Semi was an absolute freak of a talent - still is.

Sivo is still raw, but comparing the impacts on games that they each had in their rookie years, and they don't match up, imo.

I've no doubt that Maika will be in the top echelon of wingers in a year or two; I just don't think he can reach the insanely high standards that Semi set.

When he was getting the ball against the Broncos he looked dangerous every single touch. Let's not forget he didn't have a full pre-season and as we saw with Kane Evans and Clint Gutherson last year when you don't have a full pre-season you don't perform at your peak
