If you're an Eels fan, think about the year just gone as major corrective surgery on an ongoing injury. It ended the season early but you'll be better for it in the long run.

With his recent time away from the game he could be paid a huge match payments component which wouldn't count under the cap.

Maybe Idris needed timenout to realise how much he missed footy and get head right.
I doubt he will come to play just to pass time or money.Not his character.If he comes back he will give it his 100%.

Before injury he was getting into some great form for peno. Would love this to be true.

Idris is exactly what we don't need. A player that has had time away from the game due to personal issues and who has to regain form after much time out. Let someone else have a look at him as a project.

Mead is a much better player to bring in to the team. Great finisher who needs a change of venue at the moment. Best suited to the wing but can fit in the centres or at fullback in a pinch. No nonsense, low maintenance player who would fit in to the culture being built.

As an aside, I follow the Chicago Bears after living and working then a while ago

They have a blog called Da Bears Blog which I read, today they launched DaBearsBlogWeekendShow on podcast. The first 7 minutes on the show absolutely gives it to theChicago Tribune for ongoing negative reporting. It sounds eerily similar to how the Telecrap has been carrying on for the past 2 months.

The paper even gave it to the Bears for cutting a failing kicker and signing the best guard relish from a rival to strengthen the roster to th dismay of the fans who saw it as a massive improvement,they are very passionate about their teams, if you have time it's worth a listen, shows how sports blogs could be run here

Why do we need to take a risk on another player that could decide next week to retire again?

Hasn't seen out his contract with at least three clubs, has stated countless times that he isn't that interested in playing rugby league and has been out of the game for an extended period.

Sorry, you wax on about how Penrith are doing all the right things and then suggest the opposite.
