Really.....here we go again. What proportion of players do you think don't see out their contracts? The only reason the Raiders will let him go is if they've got cap problems.

It would mean he isn’t allowed to play for another club unless Canberra agree to release him. They don’t have to do that if they don’t want to...just ask Milford.

Canberra didn’t sign him to stay at home or not play for another club. They signed him to play nrl for the raiders. If they decided to release that’s another matter in itself.

Moses is an absolute grub, should of been booted from the game ages ago. He’s a cancer.

Based on stats Manu was our best forward. Or top 3 atleast.And even if replace with say Matterson we are breaking even.
I am trying to work out how our squad improves. RCG helps a little. The rest of squad won't decline a lot bar perhaps MJ and FERGO .Who gets better? Mahoney and D.Brown should improve. Are we relying on how much they improve to how much better we will be?

I feel like we need 3 changes to the side along with whoever replaces MANU.Lets say Matterson does.

RCG is one.
That leaves 2 more. Another Prop and another 2nd rower.
Kafusi/Stefano may fill the role of prop but we need a better option then Taka off the bench.

I am concerned this year's success may be our downfall for next.

Yes you do hear rumours of player managers saying to clubs sign this kid and I will let you have this one. Or release him or else. Apparently one Qld club has half their roster signed to one manager. He is almost controlling their squad.

It always amuses me when they say a coach needs to build his own roster.
Footy players only need to catch run and tackle. Some are better than others, but they cost more

I know its not a good comparison because of their sombrero, but Sticky, Robbo etc all made the GF in their first years. Apart from that 2016 glitch, the Roosters have never been in a rebuilding phase.

How long are you expecting this new second rower to spend on the field with Matterson and Lane on the edges? I’d say the vast majority of games both of those players play 80 minutes or close to it. Taka or Niukore are fine on the bench to cover an injury to either of those players and/or cover 15 minutes if they need a rest.

Recruiting another edge forward on more money than someone like Taka would be a waste of cap space. We may as well re-sign Taka as he can also cover wing, centre and 5/8.

I’d prefer that money to be spent on someone like Isaac Luke to give Mahoney a rest and provide some impact around the ruck.

However, an additional quality prop wouldn’t hurt to replace Alvaro or Evans in the 17.
