According to Phil's site our new recruit Jamal Fogarty had a man of the match performance for Burleigh in a semi final game today. Really looking forward to seeing him next year. If Robson does in fact commit to next year we probably only need him and Fogarty as back ups to Norman and Gutherson.

Thoughts?

If the fog is the real deal, he may force gutherson out into the backline. Let's not forget the fog is a handy goal kicker too.

Genuine question.

What's with the "americanassrules" comment? You've mentioned it a couple of times when referring to Hiney. Is Hiney American? Is his arse American? Did he do an American in the arse once?

I dont get it.

P.S. Calling him "Whineyrulz" makes more sense.

Americans quite often refer to someone's arse as their 'hiney'.

Fanbase is making an incredibly bad joke based on that.

And I believe Whineyrulz can thank you Gary for his new forum nickname.

Watched the Burleigh Bears game yesterday in a passive, casual capacity. Was also watching the Panthers v Sharks U-20 game. Didn't catch much of the second half as the Bears were up 28-0 at the half.

Thoughts on Fogarty:
1. Support play is tremendous. He always seemed to be thereabouts when there was a break. Bit of fullback past I suspect.
2. He has a booming kick.
3. If he was little quicker, or had more acceleration, I reckon he would already be a NRL player
4. I thought he was better of the Burleigh halves (Cameron Cullen was the other half)
5. He seemed to direct the attack but I can't remember if he took on the line at all.
6. The game featured a lot of players/names I recognized (ex or current NRL players) so that he got MOM and has received other accolades (QRL half of the year or something like that) speaks of his quality ... not that I have seen him play all that lot.
7. Can't really say anything about his defense (negative or positive)

The QRL is a top notch competition with quality players just wanting a chance to play NRL and we have seen in the past that some of these players belong in the NRL. Cody Walker hello! Whether Fogarty does too remains to be seen but he needs the chance, especially with some of the attributes (support play and long kicking game) he possesses. Now he needs to work on some of other aspects of his game to prove he belongs. I think it will come down to his work ethic and desire ....
