I doubt he'd do game days, what with his media commitments.
Potential watch this space. Johns doesn’t like Molan (does anyone?) but Nine will probably want to show they are female friendly. Still if Nine dump Johns, firstly they’ll be losing their best newer generation commentator (though when he’s up against the other space cadet, Third Man & Turdston it’s not an elite field) and secondly Fox will snap him up anyway

Is Hollis that far away? From what gather he is 18 and turns 19 early next season.
Oregon only just turned 20.
Any idea of Hughes age? I gather he isnt as highly rated.

I don't think so. BA chooses his assistant coaches and this was confirmed by O'Neill recently. So I can't see why that wouldn't apply to Johns.
The GM hires everyone. Of course BA is consulted and more than likely would not happen if BA didnt want it to. But in the pecking order the GM is above BA.

I'd be pretty surprised if as head coach BA didn't pick and choose his coaching staff, the GM might be the head that actually does the hiring and controls the process, but I think it'd be very rare for a coach of BA's experience not to be the one who ultimately makes the choice.

Not necessarily. From what I can remember BA is on the same level as the GM of football. This Cumberland Throw article seems to suggest that BA doesnt report to O’Neill, which presumably means he reports to the CEO. BA would be responsible for “coaching” so I’d say he would have had more to do with Joey’s appointment.

Edit: the structure is confirmed here with BA and the GM reporting directly to the CEO.

Just while everyone is having a go at the ineptitude of our HOF, I found this quote:
Up until last season Moses has failed to consistently match his talent and his pay cheque with consistent performances but Johns joins the Eels on the back of a breakout year for the halfback, coinciding with a new contract that showed humility as the emerging superstar took a small pay cut to stay with Parramatta under Arthur.

Seems like O'Kneel nose his stuff afterall.

prefer Stephano over Oregan, didn't think he was that good when he played, very low work rate

hope they know what they are doing

You've watched a lot of them?
I have only seen a handfull in NSW cup. As I have said before. Mannah was miles above both and so was Terepo.
Stephano took off like a tractor. Kafusi seemed to get going a little quicker. Worth seeing how many tackles Mannah broke in NSW cup.

Difference is he is seasoned. I guess coaching staff would know the potential and time it takes for them to get up to speed.

Neither seem to have huge tickers or mongrel to me. Stone might be small but he has a big heart and why he may go further then anyone thinks he is capable of.

Stefano, and Oregon, are both young - but only one player ha 9 First Grade games to his name, and is not even 30 years old yet...and he is the player we kept.

I rate Utoikamanu very highly - but Kaufusi already has 9 First Grade games to his name (and he has held his own in every one, imo).

How many First Grade games does Utoikamanu have under his belt?

I know Utoikamanu battled injuries, but the point stands that Arthur saw something in him to give him decent game time.

Agreed. I thought Kaufusi held his own in the limited game time he received. He is entitled to feel a bit hard done by for getting dropped IMO.
