Depends pou.
Id rather earn 500k a season then 750k if i ended my career with 2 premierships and in the finals most year rather then wooden spoons and not any chance every year just getting belted.
10 enjoyable years asther then putting your body thru shit for no glory. But thats just me. Some will agree and some wont. Thats fine but to me money ain't the driving force in my life. You may come from a different up bringing thou where you see glory in collecting wealth and possesions rather then memories and knowledge.
But when your dead i guess it means nothing. Wealthy people and possesion collectors just have a different way of thinking thats all....

Your memories are worth nothing when you're dead, either. Just sayin'

I laugh at the comments on here at times.

When player x signs with a new club for more money the argument generally is why would you stay somewhere for less? A rugby league career is short - you need to make money when you can. Would you stay for less money if offered it?

When player x signs with the same club and the comment is made they generally stayed for less then it's all about where he is comfortable and where he will likely get the glory by staying. Wouldn't you rather stay somewhere you might win a premiership?

Few of the Mr 5%'s are going to miss out on a considerable chunk of cash and suggest his client stay put. While the TPA situation exists as it is there will always be question marks where clubs can manage to keep 9-10 international level players on their books and then sign players who are on considerable deals or were offered better deals by other clubs. The lure of a premiership is a good one but not enough to see players halve their salary to chase it - not in the later years of their career.

While i agreed no player is likely to stay for half what they can get some where else. Also I doubt players on lessor amounts, say under $300k are going reject offers of $50-$100k more.

But I can see players on the $500k to $1 million range potentially accepting $100-200k less to stay at a club they are happy at. Some players are settled while they may have kids / families and don't want the hassle of moving.

It may sound like a lot but it's no different to someone on $100k rejecting Something like $20k to move towns / cities for a new job.

I totally agree mate, my response was more to Pou, Kornstar and Hind1111111s brief discussion about earning v happiness etc.

Mine wasn't about happiness tbh, just that I did waste all my money in my 20's and in hindsight I wish I had been better and invested in my future.

I'm doing fine now but I would be even better off if I had been smarter when I was younger.

Yeah I get that, I'm the same but don't have too many regrets.

I guess it is not worth thinking about we all want different things in life at different times in life.
