Like last night at Chardon's?

Is that Hindy with Mik at front? Or you Hiney? Looks a typical Bones on Bones party.

Read in this mornings Newcastle Herald that Brock Lamb (who we signed as a backup) may renege, quit the NRL and sign with the Maitland Pickers.
Brock is a classic example in my opinion of what is wrong with the NRL right now. I followed his junior career and he was as skilful a half as you could expect to develop (sort of a Sterling great football vision type) and he owned Nathan Cleary right through the juniors. However because he was not a good tackler/wrestler and isn't strong there just isn't a place for him in the NRL and his confidence snapped. Where as Cleary who has literally zero skill or vision but can tackle and kick the ball long (not well but long) he is a good fit for the NRL.

So you want blokes that can’t tackle well to play top level tackle footy?

It’s a shame but if you want to be your best you have to work on your weaknesses.

I think the game could be a better spectacle if teams could carry attacking specialists and then be able to replace them when they don't have the ball. At the moment the game is all about targeting the opposition's worst defenders, who are usually their best attacking players.

Yes, provided they bring awesome skills on the offensive side of the ball. That is what the fans want to see.
In all honesty, I don't want to watch tackling at all. Like for example, Josh Jackson is a great tackler but I would rather watch Days of Our Lives than watch him play football. In my opinion there should be 3 attacking positions on the field that can sub out every set in defense.

That is true in terms of how things are now. You have to be a sort of a T20, Ian Harvey type, okay at everything. I am fine with that for certain positions but the skill positions like halfback and hooker, those guys should live and die purely on their attacking skills.

This is a great point because that is also dog ugly attack as well.
And often the attacking players are good tacklers but bad defenders because they can only tackle not wrestle. Sandow made some of the best one on one tackles on big bodies I have ever seen but they invariably led to a fast play the balls. Thus Sandow sucked at D.

Lol. Unlimited interchange? Or just go for the NFL style of offensive and defensive teams.
And do you know what teams would end up doing? They’d nominate their Junior Paulo style prop as the guy to go off every defensive set. And if they said it has to be a half they would just make him where number 7. Dumb idea

Brock Lamb does not bring “awesome skills on the offensive side of the ball”. He is mediocre at best. The best attacking halves, Moses, Keary, Munster etc all tackle well enough for first grade and are light years in front of Brock Lamb in attack. Why do we want to change the rules so bog average players can play more first grade?

Lol Sandow literally side stepped out of the way of big bodies.

Weak defenders create more attacking opportunities. Essentially you are proposing to make attacking harder.

I reckon the NRL should do what Cricket did with T20 and introduce an alternative version of league that has the same concept about scoring tries but instead of having to tackle the offensive team, the defense can just touch or maybe tag them... oh wait a sec...
