maybe they should toss a coin after each try to see who kicks off nextI have no problem just watching the game how it is. Sick of rule changes. You always get games with big scores and attack. Like our win against Brisbane.
Only rule I wouldn't mind is if score a try you kick off. It would stop possesion flow that can see some games over in first 20mins.
What about if you take the 2 you kick off?? Whatever you change, there always seems to be unintended consequences.I have no problem just watching the game how it is. Sick of rule changes. You always get games with big scores and attack. Like our win against Brisbane.

Wouldn't that mean that defending teams are more likely to give away penalties? What about if you take the 2 you kick off?? Whatever you change, there always seems to be unintended consequences.

Yes. Bad idea.Wouldn't that mean that defending teams are more likely to give away penalties?

The emphasis should always be directed at scoring tries, not kicking penalty goals. The restart after a penalty conversion should be a drop out.

I don't mind goal kicking in the game but I don't want to see more penalty kicks being taken in favour of going for a try. A bit radical I guess but maybe they could look at awarding an extra point or two for a try that originates in the attacking team's half in the same play.Pardon the pun but you are preaching to the converted.
I started a thread in the cave calling for conversions to be canned in favour of some kind of thing similar to the NFL 2 point conversion.
Goal kicking has become totally boring and lacking in personality (everybody kicks about the same now including the same styles).
That's a fair point but technology has produced physically advanced players along with robotic structures and game plans. Ido love the idea of getting trainers off the field but would also like to see the captain make all onfield decisions rather than look upstairs. I'm personally not in favour of making a change for change sake but rewarding a team for scoring a try from inside their own half in a single play could have merit.Quite simply I think we need to stop looking at rule changes... There have been a couple in the last 20 years that have made the game better (40/20's and being able to take out the corner post when scoring the most obvious examples) but by and large, change for change sake has added zero IMO.
If the carrot is there, why not? Maybe they could even train for it!Are players going to take more risks inside their half in the remote chance a try will be scored?
FFS, carrots are loaded with carbs! If the carrot is there, why not? Maybe they could even train for it!
I think if you are someone who hates referees or the state of refereeing then you are really someone who hates the game play of the NRL.
