Plenty of players who hang around NSW will get a chance in NRL. Most though either played NRL earlier and dropped back or give it up by mid 20s and get a normal job.
Lot of players arent good enough at 21 or 22. But by the time they are 26 or 27 they are. Rare they hang around untill then.

Exactly. Everyone peaks at around 27. If at your best you're only just good enough for first grade you'll spend most of your 'career' (before or after your peak) as a backup or even contacted to a semi-professional club. Most guys retire if they're still not first graders at 24, even though they've still got a few years improvement left in them.

I didn’t peak until my late 30’s and have since maintained my massive Balkan frame.

Overrated when he played for us, and then found himself as the third string hooker in a bottom 4 team. He’s bog average at best.

It's too late to sign players from other NRL clubs. Unless they 'retire' perhaps, or join some non-nrl club, then you can probably sign them.
