His edge days are well behind him and every time I have see him at dummy half he reminds me of Kenny Edwards. That leaves the middle which we are well stocked in especially if the Asiata rumours are true. The guy is on bald tires and struggled to make a bog average Tigers pack even with all their injuries. It’s a signing a shit club like the Dogs would make. Not a team challenging for the title.

We don't know what Manly have offered him, so might be a moot point. If they have offered him a multi-year overs contract, then surely we wish him the best ? Des has prolly offered him 3 year deal with the last year $700k.

gower and Davey were “washed up” to when they signed with us too......both turned into pretty decent back up players.....

Here are some suggestions ( these suggestions are back up players not top 13 signings) for signings:

Players off contract

Davey - like to keep but rumours suggesting heading to manly, Cartwright (unlikely, but if willing to take cheap deal, may give us an x factor). What other edge options are there

Davies- Peats/Levi if willing to take cheap deal. Depends on status of Schneider

Evans - Asiata, not sure we have the space, but rumours suggest it’s a chance. He probably only comes for a top 17.

Gower- Taylor (similar, both can play middle along with edge if required)

Jennings - re-sign, what other wing options are there?

Salmon - would keep, but probably unlikely, Rankin is he moving into the top 30? Covers back positions similar to Salmon.

Taka - Keep, not sure we can find someone able to cover wing, centre,5/8, edge

Smith - keep if not maybe look at Adam Keighran

Stone - Keep

Terpo - Tolman (experience replacing experience)

Stefo - Hughes is already in the top 30, so need a replacement someone cheap maybe Amone/Clark

Development players

Field - see if Sailor would take a development contract

Heleta - maybe keep, hasn't really had an opportunity

Rankin - Guessing he moves to top 30 next year

yep definitely perfect....

gower and Davey were “washed up” to when they signed with us too......both turned into pretty decent back up players.....

They were hardly comparable, both had played f**k All first grade and were about 5 years younger with still plenty of footy in them.


Taylor is a middle forward who has lost his legs, the Tigers are letting him go for a reason if he isn’t good enough for a team like the Tigers why would we even bother??? We have guys like Stone, Taka and Davey yet to be re-signed who could do a better job and at least they are already in our system.

He’d offer us more than Taylor. He’s no world beater but he’s solid and seems to be improving.

I just don’t like signing blokes who are well past their best hoping to play another season or two just to avoid going out and getting a real job. Think Prichard, Fa’aso and T Rex for starters.

This will continue our current system.
I'd target guys under 20 with potential. 17-20ylds. And back ups should be guys who are good enough to be in our under 20s side and maybe NSW cup.

Personaly I'd try and move Fergo and Sivo on. Atleast one though. And see what quality we can find.

Nathaniel Roache from warriors might be a handy pick up if stays fit. Kid can play.
