Don't forget Kaufusi only turned 21 in August. He's won 13 from 23 games. By that age Junior Paulo had only won 11/27.

That makes Kaufusi about a 15% better player at the same age, if the coach ever gives him much of a go he could be very exciting!!!!!!

With Papali'i's age and number of games he could be about to have a break out season. He's played nearly three full seasons and only turned 22 about a month ago.

These signing smack of taking a punt on cheaper contracts having upside. Cartwright, Higrave and Roache are all projects and are no way playing in the 17 until they tick a whole bunch of boxes.

It may not be improved. But it certainly won't be worse. Four of our bench most regular bench players are still here in W.Smith,Stone,Kafusi and Niakuore.
So the other ones lost are Evans and Davey. Will the bench be stronger?

Can Niakuore be better. He took a huge leap in 2020. I think he can improve further. Unsure how much.
Kafusi is not even close to his peak. A lot of improvement there.

Stone is limited in skill and physical wise but shown glimpses. At worse case he will be more experienced and up to speed of NRL footy. So he will also be improved.

You then have -

Papali, Cartwright, Hipgrave, Hughes and Hollis who has been added to the squad.

Missing are Evans,Gower,Stefano,Davey.

Davey is 28 and at peak. Evans was rubbish, Gower was done and Stefano we do not know.

We also lost Terepo but he didn't play all season.

People forget Bryce on 2016 was sensational. He was also great in 2017 until a knee injury.And all the drama.
His 3yr stint at the worse team in the comp was poor. But the best teams to get bargains from are these sides.
Plenty of good or atleast solid players have gone there and looked poor and careers died.
Latu,Peachey,Bryce,Boyd,Peats,Hayne,Proctor,Wallace, Stockwell, Hurrell.

In a weak side players look bad. They get less ball and chances to attack. And this is what fans notice.
Even on here and the cum throw the perception of our players ratings in games we win 20 -16 compared to losing by the same score would be vastly different.
Your general player who does the same thing every week goes from a 7/10 to a 5 and needs to be dropped. But reality they are the same player. With a simmilar performance.

We were very close to signing Hipgrave for 2 years in July 2018 (for 2019 and 2020). Obviously he is someone BA has liked for a while.
