Addo-Carr is bloody lazy, though:

Daniel Tupou 20 runs for 227m
Josh Addo-Carr 7 runs for 66m

He's a gun - but I, for one, can't justify paying mega bucks for a guy who doesn't get involved enough.

With Semi Radradra, you had a guy who would make 15 runs a game.

Addo-Carr is like Latrell Mitchell - super talented, but lazy as f**k.

It's a no from me, tbh.
JAC is not a hit up winger like the big wingers. He is a try scorer, and his best attribute is his speed, to chase kicks to score tries or gain territory. He makes more territory that way than battering his body against big forwards.

So you'd be ok throwing $800,000 at a guy who picks, and chooses, when to inject himself into the game?

It's cool if you think that - personally, I find that a colossal waste of money...

He's asking for Gutherson-level of money, and produces a hell of a lot less, on, and off, the field.

Waste of money, at that price tag, imo...

Would you take him over Gutho?
There’s potential for Gutho to play 5/8th but I think Origin is showing while he may be a good centre, Gutho will never be a great centre

Yes, you're right. I'm really starting to see why Gutherson would be wasted at centre. Ideally Ado-Carr would just be content to play wing - where he's probably the best in the world. So, no, I wouldn't want him to replace Gutherson. However, IF Gutherson could be as influential at five-eight as he is at fullback, then sticking Ado-car at the back might be very interesting indeed. Because, despite Ado-Car being such a great winger, I think he's destined to play fullback at some point.

Was Josh Ado better then Toupo in Origin 2?
One made 66mtrs and the other 227mtrs.
I think Josh provides flashes of brilliance in good sides that people notice. I reckon in a weak side he would be a failure or at best a solid winger.
He is fast. And in the best side of the last decade. It is hard for even a below average player like Brenko Lee to look bad.

I think he scores and sets up enough tries to justify $800,000 tbh.

In 2020, he scored 16 tries in 21 games.

Much-maligned Maika Sivo scored 15 tries in 21 games.

Josh Addo-Carr piled on 18 linebreaks - Maika Sivo created 19.

He also performed quite well in some key areas:

* a tackle efficiency rate of 78.7% (18 missed tackles from 98 attempts), whereas Sivo had a tackle efficiency rate of 69.2%, missing 13 tackles from 52 attempts)

* Addo-Carr averaged 129m per game, and Sivo 118m per game

* Addo-Carr ran for 2,716m, and Sivo ran for 2,490.

Addo-Carr is a great player - but do his stats demand mega bucks, when his production is only marginally better than what Sivo produces in a down year?

I say no.

What's interesting to me to note is how many tackles Addo-Carr attempted - almost double those of Sivo.

Sivo wasn’t at his best for a lot of last season, but I suspect he was carrying an injury from the Manly game onward. Looking forward to him getting back to his best next season.

Mate, I gave him as much shit as everyone else - but his stats are almost as good as Addo-Carr's, and Sivo was down on from from 2019.

He's probably worth persisting with because, as you said, he was likely playing injured.
