FMD. If true, their cap needs forensic analysis pronto. Especially if they snare Rheed....

Even then though, if clubs want to rort the cap bad enough, they will and it's unlikely they'll be caught, but questions need to be asked if the Dogs get Kikau and Rheed given all of the other signings to date
This is the Dogs for 2023 though, not 2022. They probably have a lot of merkins off contract and f**k all worth keeping. When you're rock bottom the only way is up. But if they overpay for a handful of stars they're going to have to put a lot of trust in reserve graders to fill out their team. More likely is they've signed Kikau as the marquee because Mahoney isn't an option.

After reading the Kikau, I’m wondering after last year whether the threat of losing all revenue at a moment’s notice might mean heaps of players might just take the best dollar offer. Smugs were expecting Kikau to resign at a discount
Kikau would rather play under Ternt Barnet than Ivan Cleary.

I think what people, including these media types, fail to realise is that if Gutherson, Mahoney and Paulo don't re-sign with Parra, then Parra suddenly has a significant amount of money to spend on a player in that position and Parra suddenly becomes very attractive option for 1's, 9's and key forwards for about 80% of the comp (whether they're on contract or not).
There's some very big names off contract for 2023. Much better players than our 'big three'.

Nuikore and Papali'i are probably costing us something that starts with a 3 combined in 2022. They're both probably worth to Parra respectively something that starts with a 2 and 3. Both will be paid something starting with a 6 from 2023. Both would be stupid to stay, and the club was stupid if it offered anything starting with more than 3 and 4 respectively.

Gutho is probably currently on what he is worth to us at the moment. Paulo I suspect is on overs for what he is providing, and what could probably be provided by someone else at the same price or less, and Mahoney is probably on a lot less that he is worth. The only one who deserves a pay rise out of those three is Mahoney.
Great post

So Gus is doing at the Dogs what he said doesn't get you a premiership team, he said that premierships are not bought they are won by teams that have had a group of players come through the junior ranks together and are that teams players so to speak.
That's why he said we wouldn't win the premiership because most players were brought in that weren't part of the club from a young age etc etc.
He is a bit of a wanker.
Bit of a wanker is a massive understatement when describing Gould, he is a knob of the highest order.

Contradicts everything he preaches and will argue he never said or meant it originally.

Mik reckons Kikau is a powder puff

Why would you even want to match WT offer ?
Well that's exactly my point. Don't pretend these f**king wrist splitters speak for all of us. I'm excited about the trajectory of our club. 2022 is going to be awesome and so is 2023. Your club has signed a good player too.
