I reckon that’s a pretty fair contract for Gutho, obviously not elite but his output / effort is great.

Papa leaving was always going to go well for Guth, the club have shit themselves and given Ayoub the turd what he wanted. Watch Mahoney and Paulo follow suit. I reckon Reed is really close to being fine with the number on the table... the only issue is he just isn't 100% sure about the difference in the number between us and Dogs.

If we lost Rheed I reckon we would then be in disaster mode.
My fear would be BA then gets desperate to save his own career and they pay overs for Gutherson and Jnr. And then we fade slowly. This would be a nightmare scenario. Of Rheed goes we have to just bow the whole thing up and rebuild to have a crack for 2025.

The alternative could be floating around 7th-10th and then face a massive rebuild and our halves would of lost their best years.

We did ok without Reed in the later games this year. Probably should have beat the eventual premiers in fact. He's not irreplacable.

Don't lose heart just yet @hineyrulz

I like you am very concerned and am keeping my fingers crossed that we keep both Mahoney and Junior at the right price or things could go real bad real quick. But if we do keep them, then the 2023+ rosters may actually be very, very good.

Remember some of our juniors are coming into NRL ready mode and by 2023 we may just have a couple that can step up and be genuine quality. Also it does give us a good amount of time from now to the 2023 season kicks off and who knows by then who we may have signed?

Point is lets just wait and see how this all plays out. Mahoney is obviously the key. Hopefully he does stay and then a very healthy roster is assured for at least the next 3-4 seasons.

Yes when we had lussick who I think was underrated but we all saw what happened when we had to use a bloke who is not a hooker …. It was quite possibly the difference in that last game …. For me Reed is a priority

Gutherson is probably worth 650-700k in my books.Being captain and bringing good energy sounds like we have an ok deal. The 2.3 mill is just a ball park rumour. Being the Eels id say media would always inflate it also.

We need to understand also what 350-400k gets us. Guys like Zac Lomax would cost 550k. Cotric cost 600k and I assume JAC about the same.

Mahoney stays and we have our spine sorted. Forwards are plug and play. But we have RCG and N.Brown. they'll be fine for the next 2yrs. Kafusi may step up. I dont think you need time to gel as props. So it makes it easier to buy one and put them into the side. Doesn't effect the dynamics as much as a player in the spine

I think you’re on the money here assuming we keep guth, reed and junior and not on stupid money we are still in very good shape

He was given a premiership winning team and won in his first year and then lost to far weaker teams in his 2nd and 3rd years. Probably should have won with Raiders except that changed call by ref was really critical and cost them the game.
