People are banging on what about the storm or Penrith losing guys. Some on here are dillusional. One has made two consecutive grandfinals and has a title. The others been the best side form10yrs with multiple grand finals wins.

We haven't even gotten to the game before the grand final. This is why we are copping it. To think we will have long term success based on the fact Penrith and Storm let players go zi don't get. Sure its possible but I won't be suprised if we end up a bottom 5 side for a few years again also.
Both those clubs lost promising young players prior to their premiership wins. They certainly didn't win by treating some youngsters as irreplaceable.

Plus the fact that for 2023, there's an extra team in the comp. The simple maths of the situation mean that the existing teams, on average, are going to lose players at all levels of ability, and replace them with players who, on average are not yet quite as good. Unless, of course, we believe that the addition of the Dolphins will magically and instantly add to the stock of NRL-quality players.
This is the fact. Every team (on average) should be weaker in 2023 by simple fact of the Dolphins joining the comp. The only teams not likely to be weaker are the ones that are currently shit, e.g. the Bulldogs and Tigers.

Not winning the comp doesn't magically make you immune to weak clubs offering your players overs. And after the Covid scare players would be more likely to chase the money on offer.

Junior paulo any word of what's happening.

This one has dragged on a lot longer than the rest of them. Is Ayoub playing more games with the club

Surely a decision one way or another so we can plan ahead.

We had an outstanding roster last season and in my opinion capable of winning the big dance. Management of our roster, bench and workloads weren't ideal. Then of cause there was that extended period when we couldn't have beaten the Cesnock Goannas and nobody had a clue why. Even our most loyal forumites were jumping off the BA Bandwagon. I like our 2022 signings to date. Definitely a strong chance again but have we improved on and off the field? Will our future departing players be focused?
Its very exciting.
We definitely were a chance of winning the comp this year, but so were four or five other clubs. Why then does anyone deserve criticism for us not winning? We were more likely to not win than to win. That's the case with every club. Penrith beat us by two points. That's a coin toss. No reason to criticise the people who got us there. We had a good season and it's understandable that some clubs would be after our players. If we're letting them go it's not because we don't have cap space - there's only about 14 merkins contacted for 2023. We can fit anyone in. We just don't want to overpay or the cap will start to bite.

We where on the end of some very embarrassing thrashings.
Yes other clubs lost games but did the other top 5 cop as many beatings as we did?

Kamoe Fekitoa any word on this kid? Apparently one of our juniors and gone to Penrith. Probably the next Kikau. They have a great success rate with juniors.

All except Penrith and Melbourne. Is it anyone's fault we weren't as strong as them? It took those clubs a very long time to get where they were. We've only been under our current management for a few years.

We would have a plan either way. If we need him to make a decision for us to move forward we'll either give him an ultimatum or just pull the offer. One thing we know is if he re-signs we won't have paid too much. I like the way the club is run now. Proper poker players.

Give it a break, we signed Lachlan Blackburn from the Riff! It happens, and will continue with the borders overlapping , seen it since the 70s and won’t stop any time soon, chill

Manly got beaten 40-12 and 36-16 in finals games. But apparently a prelim is the gold standard for succes.

Our game is built to combat Storm and Penrith.
I said this from about round 4. We will be exposed by sides who move the ball fast and have quick outside backs. But teams with smaller and mobile forwards who play a safer style game always suited our power game. We could grind and roll over the top of them.

The fact we have Pensini,The Canberra kid and Dunster now in the backline I reckon sides like Manly will struggle against us.
It was easy to run around opacic,Fergo,Sivo and Marata out wide. They won't find space so easily now.
