Jake Arthurs can base his game on Scott Hills
He is now the fittest guy in the club.
Last season he was about 50% of the player he will end up. He is a game manager style. Not your flashy WOW factor player. At the moment he processes his plays far to slowly for NRL but he also reads opposition defense better then Moses and Brown and spots openings well.. Just doesn't execute at a good enough level yet. Also hr not scared to try something if spots it.
If he learns to execute and kick better he may become quite a good player.
Defense will not be a problem as a big frame and he is tough. He will add 10kgs to his frame.

That is how I would evaluate him at this point.

Yep, if you're busy and make good decisions you don't need to be quick as a playmaker. And as you say, if he adds 7-8kg to that frame he'll end up a superior defensive half.

Given he’s signed on a second tier deal, I’m guessing you mean no recognition from every NRL coach?
Either that or BA has done a fantastic job fending off other clubs to sign him on massive unders

So players who are very good at one thing often shine against the other reserve graders, and many fans wonder why they never get a run in the top grade, while 'lesser' players get promoted.

I don't. I think he will have to bide is time in 2nds. Sort of like you're not getting a free ride and when a downturn in form or injury arises, he might be picked and in the 1sts

Exactly what I was thinking. NSW Cup for 75% of the comp will be like a good behaviour bond.

I bagged the guy this season but I get the feeling it will be Makatoa
