I have been well. Family are all doing fine. Young bloke is at Uni in Wollongong and daughter starts Year 11 next year. Still out in the country working hard now we have had so much rain.

Did I miss you? Yeah, kind of miss everyone. I take a check every now and again.

As for the crypto thing @strider not really my thing.... I have enough to worry about
Nice to hear. Your contributions are always welcome here. Take care buddy.

My son just completed his first year of Commerce at Wollongong and went well and has gained a transfer to UTS. He liked that Uni however the travel used to bother him and some days he literally couldn’t drive there due to the fog.

I think they will be legit contenders in 2023 and 2024 before things go pear shaped.
They will give it a shake in these 2yrs.

I don't think they will be legit contenders until they get a dominant half that can win them games when backs to the wall. Matt Burton isn't ready yet and won't be for at least 3-4 years. He will need a hard nosed and experienced partner if they are to be "legit" contenders. That means Burton has to do the time and get the bumps and bruises and all the different scenarios that NRL premiership play makers need to have to get the bikkies. He isn't even tested as a half week in week out. He will need at least 3 full seasons to get to the level that will be needed for him to steer them to a premiership. That is why if he doesn't have a seasoned quality half beside him, they won't be "legit" contenders in my opinion. Look how many season in the top grade it took Cleary to become his own man.

But who knows if they get someone of note, sure then they will be fast tracked.

Yeah, the only issue we had with our son in Wollongong was COVID. As he was living on campus, when the lockdown hit he was living in a room not much bigger than my office and his friends had headed home. Wasn't a great time. This time round he will have his car and a job with some luck so it should be a little less restricting with some luck.

Nor do I expect that it ever will.... I doubt even a premiership would change some of the bitching and moaning that goes on here.

It's the net mate. It's a good thing that there are so many differing and yes even negative opinions. Otherwise why would we even bother if we all sounded and thought the same?

Geez you old farts aren't used to us youngies being able to express ourselves freely and and I'm sure you would love nothing more then to be able to send us to our rooms without our supper.

Tough! We are staying up all night and raising hell. The net has really stuffed you lot up hasn't it?

Phil Gould did it at Penrith but remember

Merrin,Tamou,Roberts,Tahu,Waqa,Rcg,Moylan,Whare,Hiku,Dwz,Maloney.

A lot of big contracts that went pear shaped or just dud signings. Penrith where lucky they had such good juniors to replace them. A golden crop. Now they are getting ripped apart.

Gus may or may not have the same luxury at the Dogs in regards to signings. Plus Burton will demand 1 million. I think its very interesting what happens there.
At tender age, young Burton is looking like he’s the next immortal.

Doplhins at six paces.

The problem will manifest itself as he gets rid of the 1 year cheapies like Vaughan and the expectations when new recruits managers see what was paid for Reed and Kikau and demand close to that. That tends to spiral a little bit out of control and Gould’s ego will be tested big time, he will also be contending with the Dolphins filling their roster and clubs like Parra, Riff and even Roosters/Storm looking for players.

So we will bank on young guys to fill some spots in 2023 who hasn't played much in 2 years

And if omicron goes wild, might not play in 2022 either?
We have 17 players with NRL experience contracted for 2023 already. And the top clubs all have plenty of nuffies in their top 30, so why shouldn't we?

What decline you delusional fool.

Waiting to see the stats that support your foolish argument.

Stats are almost meaningless when we are talking about a player like him.
The simple fact of his age showed he was in physical decline. It's why he eventually retired.

So Cam played the last few years as a favour to Melbourne and took a substantial pay cut as well. What a great bloke.
Tedesco is one season older than Junior so I guess his contract yearly value declines faster than Juniors. Yeah sure.
Do these guys even Rugby League?
You think Hodgson will be getting a pay raise at our club?
