In the event of Injuries, Suspension, Covid
Halves not so much especially if Drown doesn't take his PO.
Forwards also not so much.
Now do all the other clubs. You'll find their 2023 squads are also very short in depth so far out from the start of the season.

And with the Dolphins coming in the depth will really be tested.

What I am saying is that Colonel's point regarding the junior pathways plays a part. However, the youngster might be able to fill in for a few games but to play consistently week in week out will be hard.

Whereas the out of favour players from other clubs usually are more reliable on the field week in week out and that's the part of our recruitment strategy that keeps us up there. I reckon the Storm is like that too.. Plug and Play.

It's the net mate. It's a good thing that there are so many differing and yes even negative opinions. Otherwise why would we even bother if we all sounded and thought the same?

Geez you old farts aren't used to us youngies being able to express ourselves freely and and I'm sure you would love nothing more then to be able to send us to our rooms without our supper.

Tough! We are staying up all night and raising hell. The net has really stuffed you lot up hasn't it?

Pull your head in Ram. Bit rude. I know you are probably a little anxious with BOB Christmas party coming on Friday.

I would of liked to keep Papali'i is all.
The rest are a blow but replacable. We go into 2022 with a powerful side. And by 2023 who knows what eventuates with juniors and suprise packets.
Along as we do not blow our cap Indont even mind the odd rebuild years. It is part of sport so we need to accept this.
I'm still thinking our system is what have made these guys look good rather then just the players themself. Plenty of good players at other clubs that look ordinary due to the side and system.
Totally agree, the club stuffed up in Papali. The rest including Mahoney - no problems, not worried. Paulo and RCG were the key re-signings, Papali would have made it perfect.

Definitely not but he will be earning no less in year two than year one except by choice.
Well from his perspective it doesn't much matter whether he gets paid equally each year. If it's a two year deal for $800k (for example) does it make much difference if he gets $450k in 2023 and $350k in 2024? The club is the one with a salary cap to juggle, so if it suits the club to pay more up front (or the other way around) then they would certainly offer it. Would the player really complain about getting more money up front? Especially when he's getting paid to play NRL at 34 years of age. There's no rule saying a player's contact has to be paid evenly per year.

How does the Tax work? My accountant told me sports stars have a special tax as their careers are a short span so they don't get hammered. I think it may be a flat rate

yes and no it depends on why they are out of favour
personality clash or are they just not putting in?
