My mum had a large olive tree. God I hated having to climb it and pick them every freakin summer. Loved the small to medium green ones though. Could sit down and eat a whole bowl of them in one sitting. When you make your own olives just at the right amount of lemon tang and salt with fresh oregano and a small splash of olive oil, they are so insanely addictive.

My brother now has the house and he is a lazy merkin like me and just lets them sit on the tree and rot.

I friggen hate picking olives. I’ve avoided it the past few years.

not sure if true but i thought i seen an article about rfm and has a pretty serious injury at the moment?

RFM has had multiple surgeries on his foot and may not even make it back.

you’d be the first I’ve heard that think prickly pears are terrible. You have to eat the fruit after peeling it.

@Gary Gutful olives are starting to fruit. They’re still small. They don’t get picked here till May-ish. We are past Bathurst so things take a little longer to get ripe.

@Gary Gutful olives are starting to fruit. They’re still small. They don’t get picked here till May-ish. We are past Bathurst so things take a little long to get ripe.

how do you pick em? by hand? like each olive? ...... I once saw a show where they have a thing mounted on the tractor that basically grabs the tree trunk and shakes the bejezus out of it and they fall off into a thing that catches em .... do you have an olive tree shaker?

He's got the shaker, but not the catcher, so they end up having to pick them up one by one off the ground anyway.... He's thinking of selling shaker so he can buy a catcher....
