I watched the Eels v Bulldogs 83 SF and there was a blatant double knock on but it was play on. I'm assuming because the Bulldogs who infringed second had regained the ball it saved packing a scrum.

the bit that made me post this in the game i was watching, we (eels) were the infringers .... manly made a break and all but scored - yet multiple parra players then proceeded to slow the play the ball down ridiculously - i was lol'ing - then they spread it wide and our entire backline about 3 players were never in the same universe as onside, and just made the tackle ...... referee just let it all go .... every merkin would have ended up in the bin these days

Yeh, that was when the official rule for offside was still 5m, but referees had their own version of it somewhere between 6 and 10m.
