Koala is fast, apparently.Agree on Saab. He is fast but kind of weak. Never heard of Koala before.

Run at me, bra.Better not run at him!
It might be his best position these days. He can be more involved than at centre while using his strength and skill, and also avoids the one-on-one defensive match ups he would face defending two in.
Yeah it's a shame that Ricky Stuart, who played and coached in over 700 games, needed an extra 15 minutes to realise something you knew as soon as the deadshit commentator said it.
Here's a tip: Saab is a poor defender and Koula has never played first grade. You absolutely want them to have to make some decisions in defence. You also want to force DCE to make as many tackles as possible. That doesn't mean you're trying to go around them, it means you are targeting a potential weakness and trying to fatigue their star playmaker.
If you want to learn something about footy stop listening to commentators. They get their jobs because they can talk, not because they can think.
Maybe we should turn our attention to Tolutau Koula from Manly. He is big, skillful strong and above all else fast. So fast in fact that he was the fastest guy at the Sea Eagles by a long shot, at least until Saab arrived. I would guess that Saab has overtaken him, but then again I think Saab is the quickest player in the NRL now. But this kid can motor too. He is considered a future star and has been rated as one of the best young attacking players seen in either rugby league or rugby union at school and representative level in recent years. He has also been fast tracked into the Sea Eagles top 30 last year just out of school at 18 years of age.
I have to hand it to Scott Fulton, he seems to have a great eye for talent, like his old man. He and his dad have always valued speed almost above everything else. I don't ever recall Manly ever having a slow or average speed backline and even their forwards over the years were amongst the quickest. As Bozo always used to say, "you can't train speed." I think he is exactly the type of player that we could use and he is just about ready for NRL too.
He is off contract at the end of 2022, so that means we can make an official offer to him in November. If they haven't extended him by then we would be mad not to take a serious look at him. It would also be awesome if we were to seal another one of their development players like we did King Gutho. It is the least we can do seeing all the raiding they are doing in our backyard.
Also the kid broke the AAGPS Athletics Carnival Open Championship 100m record in a time of 10.58s at Sydney Olympic Park in 2019, which is just another example of just how fast he is.
Like I said, this kid is a player and has speed to burn. Manly are fairly settled in the backs at the moment and we are not. We could be a very attractive option if we sell ourselves well. I hope our recruitment team are looking for real speed to fill our backline with. If they are, they need not look farther then this guy.

Protected species so can't tackle him and he doesn't have to tackle either.Agree on Saab. He is fast but kind of weak. Never heard of Koala before.
Being fast doesn't stop players making poor decisions in defence. And Saab misses plenty of tackles.Mate I don't need the commentators to tell me what was so bleeding obvious after the first 10-15 minutes. As for targeting inexperienced or weak defenders, pass, pass, pass, pass, with no decoys or straight runners would never achieve that against speedsters, unless they were Z grade level defenders.
I value speed very, very highly mate always have always will, So it is one thing I am always looking at and how teams use it or handle it. So sorry the commentators were way late to the party in stating it. I was laughing my head off at Ricky's Canberra style of play. As for Saabs weak defense, yeah sure, but that is mostly his turn around defense, but you need to get passed him to do that. That style of link passing was never going to challenge even him ffs. Finally, on Koula, well maybe you need a reminder what I thought of this kid and said so numerous times.
Clowndick!

So are you saying the tactic was wrong or the execution? You seem to think Koula's try was a result of poor tactics rather than Wighton simply dropping the ball. Likewise Saab's intercept try. It was a shit pass. Not with that type of lateral passing that the Raiders were dishing up in the 1st half and the score line reflected the way they were playing up until then. Give it up mate, the tactics were way wrong in the first half, then the smartened up and took them on up the middle and the game changed and they were then able to break them open.
It isn't that hard to admit to or see mate. Own up to your crap.
