So, basically its just your opinion.

Have you considered the possibility that Marata is not actually a NZ Maori, isn't eligible for the Maori, has never been selected for the Maori, and that he is by descent a Cook Islander? Or does that not fit with the narrative? Even Wikipedia (the supreme arbiter of truth and fact do not list him in the Maori player pool.

Note...guys like Rapana have played for both the Cook Islands and the Maori...but he both NZ Maori and Cook Islands descent.
