Not based on any stat's, merit given to Wicks and the back rowers for the extra time they spend on the pitch. I sense the lift when Mannah returns but thought the other guys provide more value, IMO

This was about defence though and Mannah is our 2nd best defender, possibly 3rd behind Terepo. Mannah is also very good value for the amount he is on the cap for.

Well both would be infront of Alvaro IMO and Wicks is not exactly miles above nor is Tim as far as level goes.
For me Tim if fit starts every game but these guys will be snapping at heels.
I doubt guys like Rory play and first grade nor would Hasson who I think is an interesting player .

Hasson has great size so a good year in Gym and he could be moulded into a solid prop. Needs 6-7 kgs

Yeh got to be honest Terepo has finally started to progress as a player and can play backrow too as could Matagi (have we signed him?)
Maybe with a few new forwards on board guys like Gower may be moved on? I like Gower and what he's done for us but he deserves to play first grade week in and out imo

Does anyone consider hurting players in defense?
An area where KE rates high and scott as they hit hard and take the wind out of players

Does Scott really hurt players though? He wrestles really well and slows down the ruck massively but I wouldn't consider him a hard hitter. Moeroa seems to hit pretty hard in defence too.

Does it actually have any effect on the game or just make the fans feel good? Strong initial contact is important to the quality of the ensuing wrestle, but these are NRL players. Getting hurt doesn't stop them.

Have you played footy? Bloody hell, of course it helps you by hurting them. Just like guys who run hard. You sap their energy. Hard hits take it out of you. They wear you out.
The energy to bring down a kasiano is sapping and draining. Or a hard bone rattling hit could even injure the opposition for the remainder of game.
As for Scott true , in his day he hit harder but is more just a tuff defender. Tepai can hit hard also.
If your a player you know who hurts in defense and would rather not run at them if can avoid!!!
Sharks pack all hit hard in d
