Stats arent always the indicator. The game prior to last Jake had good stats but I reckon he was pretty ordinary. Last game his stats were ordinary yet I reckon he had a much better game overall. Carty and others could also be victims to the almighty stats. To be fair Im not convinced of their correctness.

Stats aren’t perfect (unless you have all the stats you need, which we as fans not paying for analytics services don’t have) but they are generally better than observation, which is tainted by our lizard brains focusing on the spectacular as well as imperfect memories.

Did you watch the NSW Cap game last week ? If so, how did you think Carty went ?

I don't need to. I can tell by how little game time he gets when chosen in the 17, and the times of the game he is allowed to come on the field, that the coaching staff won't be choosing him as one their first choice edge forwards.

If they do, we will have a very shit side, as there will be at least four other players on the bench that the coaching staff will have even less faith in than they do of Cartwright.

Now that COVID is sort of done with, I'd be taking a look at John Bateman.

I don't think it is any coincidence that the only two seasons out of the last five (six if you include this season) that the Raiders have made the Top 8 (GF and Prelim Final appearances no less), Bateman was in the team.

He only had issues with the Raiders because he was well under paid and COVID meant he couldn't see his young child. Pay him the right amount and he could be something else for us.

Plus he supposedly gets on well with Hodgson.
